Ace 0.1.22
What is new in 0.1.22
Released: 2026-10-14
- Chips in the composer: a file you pick with
@, a command you pick with/, a pasted picture, pasted text and a quote now sit in your text as chips, where you put them, with an icon or a thumbnail. One Backspace removes a chip. The arrow keys move past it in one step. Undo brings it back, and Copy copies it as@pathor/command. - Chips in your messages: your sent messages show the same chips: a file with its icon, a command, a picture, pasted text. So does the card of the message rail.
- The agent receives the same: a file still goes as
@path, now where you put it in the sentence. A picture or pasted text goes with the message as before, marked in the text where you placed it ([Image 1]).
Ace 0.1.21
What is new in 0.1.21
Released: 2026-10-14
- Message rail: a press on a tick takes you to that message at once, also in a long conversation and near its end. The message shows at the top of the view, with its answer below.
- Message rail card: the card beside a tick shows your whole message, on as many lines as it needs, instead of its first few words.
Ace 0.1.20
What is new in 0.1.20
Released: 2026-10-14
- Windows and Linux: Ace has a build for Windows (a zip, 64-bit) and for Linux (an AppImage and a tar.gz, 64-bit). Get them from the download page on useace.dev. Only the Mac version updates itself for now.
- Mac download: the Mac version comes as a disk image. Open it and drag Ace into Applications.
- App icon: Ace has its icon again. 0.1.19 showed a blank one.
- File icons: the file tree and every file list show each file's icon again, instead of a question mark.
- Reasoning effort: the bars of the effort button fill in amber, whatever primary colour you picked.
Ace 0.1.19
What is new in 0.1.19
Released: 2026-10-13
- Ace: atelier is now Ace. This version is a new app, Ace.app: install it once from the release page. Your projects, sessions and settings come with you on its first start. After that, Ace updates itself.
- Agent panel: the panel is three cards with a small gap between them: the header, the conversation, and the foot. The foot holds the composer and the cards above it, such as the plan, the subagents, the pull request and the changed files.
- Composer: it is one row while the text fits, with the text at the left and the controls at the right. Longer text, or a new line, puts the text above the controls.
- Reasoning effort: a button beside the model sets how hard Claude Code thinks: Low, Medium, High, Extra high or Max. Each press takes the next level, and its bars show the level. A change applies at once, also while the agent works.
- Subagents: two or more subagents that run show as one bar.
- Scrolling: a session opens at its last message at once, and a press on the rail jumps to that message at once.
- Sessions in the sidebar: the ⋯ of a row opens Rename, Handoff, Copy session id, Close panel, Archive and Delete, each with its letter, and the letters work on the selected row too. Archive and Delete ask first. Delete removes a Claude Code session for good. The ⋯ shows in the place of the time, and the archive button is gone from the row.
- Sidebar: a project has no fold arrow, and its sessions start under its badge. The open session has no bar at its side. A row shows its state with a small loader while it works and a dot when it finished or needs you.
- Single view: it has no tab bar. The sidebar picks the session, Ctrl-Tab moves between the open ones, and Cmd-W closes the one in front.
- Code in answers: every code block in an answer has a Copy button.
- Reply to a selection: Enter puts the reply in the composer, and Cmd-Enter sends it at once. Copy copies the words you selected.
- Removed: bots, the Design view, the chat and mail accounts (Slack, Discord, Gmail), and the Linear and GitHub Issues task providers.
atelier 0.1.18
What is new in 0.1.18
Released: 2026-10-12
- Welcome: the first start shows a welcome page with one button. It shows once, and Enter or Space presses the button.
- What's new: after an update, the first start shows a small card with the notes of that version. Continue closes it. All releases opens the full changelog, as the version in the status bar still does.
- Update: the update button moved from the title bar to the version at the bottom left. It is an icon, then a ring while the update downloads. It has no words.
- Needs you: the rail shows how many things wait for you: a session that asks, a run that stopped, a bot thread with a question.
- Bots and chats: a bot reads only the channels you tick, on any chat account. Bots on Codex and Cursor get the tools their grants allow.
atelier 0.1.17
What is new in 0.1.17
Released: 2026-10-11
- Changes: a file a command writes outside your project (a redirect or tee to an absolute path) now shows in the turn's changes, so you can review it and reject it. When the agent asks first, you see the real diff and Reject puts the old text back or removes the new file.
- Bots: a Bots view on the left rail lists the starter crew of ten bots with a face, role, voice and skills. It is read-only for now.
- Messages and Mail: the two generic screens are gone. A settings file that opened on one of them opens on Sessions.
atelier 0.1.16
What is new in 0.1.16
Released: 2026-10-10
- Usage: the view now uses the same layout as the rest of the app: a sidebar card for the sources, a card for the details, and the status bar below. It reads your logs again each time you open it, and it opens again after a restart.
atelier 0.1.13
What is new in 0.1.13
Released: 2026-10-10
- Usage: the details now sit in a card, like the other views, so the page no longer looks like a layer on top of the app.
- The composer: the blue button says "Send", like "Queue", "Steer" and "Stop".
atelier 0.1.12
What is new in 0.1.12
Released: 2026-10-09
- The composer: a wide blue Send button. While the agent works, "Queue" and "Steer" when you have typed something, and a red "Stop" when the box is empty.
atelier 0.1.11
What is new in 0.1.11
Released: 2026-10-09
- The update button: it looks like our other buttons, with the same corner and size. When an update is ready it says only "Update".
