v0.20.1
What's new
This release is about the first five minutes.
- A shorter front page. The README and PyPI description are now a one-screen start: what lazyplan is, how to install it, three commands to a live plan, and one agent example.
- Depth when you want it. Install options, init layout, CLI reference, keys, agent guidance, and data rules moved to docs/usage.md.
- A clearer contributor path. Development setup, gates, and release links moved to CONTRIBUTING.md.
- Better package metadata. The PyPI summary, keywords, and project links now match the product.
No CLI, data, or TUI behavior changed.

What's new
This release makes lpui init scope-safe from the first write.
- One scope decides everything. The database,
config.json, templates, skills,AGENTS.mdpointer, and.gitignoreentries now come from one resolved layout before anything touches disk. - Global means home-only.
lpui initcreates no repo files on a clean repo.--team(or--skills-scope project|both) opts a repo into shared storage, and--team --no-skillsstill uses repo storage. - Check before you change.
lpui init --checkandlpui doctorreport expected versus actual paths without writing. Exit0is clean,1means misplaced resources,2means bad flags. - Safe repair. Global init repairs leftovers from an earlier scoped install, backs up every touched file under
~/.lazyplan/backups/<timestamp>/, and stops with export/import guidance when both databases contain plans. Team init never moves home data. - Explicit DB wins.
--db PATHand$LAZYPLAN_DBalways take precedence and are never relocated. - Same plan for scripts.
--jsonand--yesnow apply the same non-interactive layout.

What's new
This release rebuilds the screen around one idea: see the plan, then act.
- Readable plans. Plans start as one-line summaries with progress (
● P59 Overhaul the UX 35/35). Open a plan to see milestones, then open a milestone to see tasks. - A useful preview. The right pane shows the selected row's reason, next few tasks, acceptance progress, commits, and repos. At narrow widths it steps aside and Enter opens the full page.
- Safe detail. Enter opens a read-only page. Press
eto edit, sto change status, xto tick a criterion, ato add one,nto add the next level, anddto delete with a confirmation that says what else will go. - Forms that fit. Every field has a visible label, every form names what it will create, and everything works in an 80×24 terminal.
- Plain command names. The palette and help use outcomes such as Create plan, Move to doing, and Tick next criterion.
?opens help;copens the palette. - One vocabulary. The main commands are now
lpui plan add, lpui task move --id 3 --to done, andlpui criterion tick --id 4. Old commands such asadd-plan,status,check, anduncheckstill work. - Cleaner output.
lpui listshows plan summaries;lpui list --treeshows the full hierarchy.--jsonis unchanged. Single-cell glyphs (○ ◐ ●) replace emoji, and ids read consistently (P59,M189,T425).
