EQL Atlas 0.1.1 — Preview
Pre-releaseEQL Atlas 0.1.1 — Preview
This update fixes map loading and layer bounds, improves source readability, and adds repeatable desktop and browser regression checks.
Changes
- Switching maps clears stale geometry, landmarks, and location markers. Map controls stay disabled until the selected source loads, and failed loads can be retried by choosing another source or reopening the folder.
- Bounds, height controls, framing, and location validation include geometry from both standard layers, 0 and 1. Decorative layers remain excluded when standard geometry exists.
- Unreadable optional Brewall reference labels produce a warning without preventing the primary map from opening.
- Image exports retain the captured map's filename when the selected zone changes before export finishes.
- Source formatting and clearer function boundaries make loading, drawing, and desktop setup easier to maintain.
Downloads
No Node.js installation is required.
| Platform | Download | Status |
|---|---|---|
| macOS, Apple Silicon | Mac ZIP | Packaged app tested on macOS |
| Windows, x64 | Windows ZIP | Experimental; runtime not verified on Windows |
| Linux, x64 | Linux tar.gz | Experimental; runtime not verified on Linux |
Extract the complete archive. On Mac, move the app into Applications. On Windows, run EQL Atlas Cross-Platform.exe from the extracted folder. On Linux, run ./EQL Atlas Cross-Platform from that folder. Choose the maps directory in your EverQuest installation.
This preview remains unsigned; the Mac app is not notarized. macOS and Windows may display first-launch warnings. Linux desktop libraries and sandbox configuration vary by distribution. There is no Intel Mac binary.
Game maps are not included. Files stay local; the application does not modify game files, inspect the game process, or upload maps. Location markers are manual, and drawn edges are not confirmed traversable routes.
Validation
- All nine core tests passed.
- The packaged macOS app passed desktop and browser-mode regression suites using generated fixtures: standard-layer bounds, failed-load cleanup and recovery, optional-reference failures, export identity, height slicing and ruler labels, PNG output, rendered map pixels, and renderer isolation.
- Browser-mode directory import and desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts passed inside the packaged macOS runtime.
- All three packages contain identical application archives at version 0.1.1. Runtime binaries match the advertised architectures. Download archives were checked for integrity and exclude development dependencies, game files, and test profiles.
- The original private-map corpus suites were not rerun for this release. Windows and Linux were cross-built on macOS; their native runtime behavior remains unverified.
