@krflol krflol released this 20 Oct 05:33

This opt-in Python preview improves solid text decorations across word spaces and nested inline content. It includes reusable components, named styling parts, column-based tables, static Bootstrap helpers, repeated page bands, and HTML export with or without styles.

python -m pip install --pre "fullbleed==2.6.0a10"

Ordinary pip install fullbleed continues to select stable 2.5.34. The component API lives in fullbleed.ui.experimental and may change. This release does not update the Node/C# packages or publish a Rust crate.

Download the complete component source kit. It contains the Northstar invoice and Common Ground report through both Python components and HTML/CSS, an authored accessible community guide, and a three-page field-notes report with repeated headers and page totals. The extracted kit reproduces 11 saved PDFs, including its verification copies; a separate check uses Fullbleed alone. SOURCE.json records five standalone packaging adjustments.

Open the Northstar invoice, Common Ground report, community guide / PDF/UA-1, community guide / PDF/UA-2, or field notes / PDF/UA-2.

class_name adds a literal class. Give that class an appearance through a matching Document(styles=...) selector. Components also support attached styles, shared themes, .with_style(...), and named .with_parts(...) overrides. to_html(include_styles=True) exports the resolved CSS; include_styles=False preserves the structure for an application's own stylesheet. Images and browser font files remain separate assets. See the component authoring reference and page-band API.

The community guide now has a continuous documentation-link underline across its word spaces. The changed specimens preserve text placement and semantic-role counts and pass independent veraPDF checks for PDF/UA-1 and PDF/UA-2. These checks apply to the attached specimens; human assistive-technology usability is unverified.

Qualification includes 46 focused and 970 full Python tests, 80 decoration-space cases, 100 thickness cases, and 33 page-band cases. Windows and Linux CI reproduce 435 saved matrix PDFs per platform and matching PNG content. The exact-tag release and a fresh public Windows installation reproduce those same PDFs and previews. All 15 wheels and the source archive were anonymously downloaded and matched to the release artifacts. The separately pinned Docker examples still test stable 2.5.31, not this alpha runtime.

The independent CSS comparator remains failing: 1,623 PASS, 21 FAIL, and 18 REFERENCE-DISPUTED across 1,662 fixtures. All 7,437 saved PDF/PNG files match the previously qualified decoration implementation. Inputs, references and thresholds are unchanged. This is not a general CSS-conformance or browser-parity claim.

Attached evidence: complete CSS corpus, validation outputs and validator reports, publication checks, verification manifest, and SHA-256 checksums. Evidence retains the initial old-underline checksum failure and the CRLF/LF comparison diagnosis. PDF comparisons remain byte-exact; PNG comparisons require identical metadata and decompressed scanlines without pixel tolerances.

Bootstrap exports are static and include no JavaScript. HTML export does not reproduce PDF pagination. Page-band paint-fit checks are conservative; named/facing-page variants are not implemented. Native file output is streaming. Dedicated PDF/VT validation remains unconfigured. The decoration fix covers the retained solid-decoration fixtures and shadows, not arbitrary CSS decoration-layer composition.
