Fullbleed 2.6.0a11 - Flow spacing in static HTML

Flow now carries its authored spacing into styled HTML. A component such as Flow(Heading(...), Paragraph(...), gap=pt(18)) keeps that gap without a host layout workaround. PDF-only PageBreak markers are hidden in continuous browser HTML so they do not add empty gaps. Native PDF pagination is unchanged.

This is an opt-in Python component preview:

python -m pip install "fullbleed==2.6.0a11"

Ordinary pip install fullbleed still selects stable 2.5.34. The API under fullbleed.ui.experimental remains experimental.

Download the complete source kit, extract it and run:

python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python component_page_bands/render.py --out output/field-notes --pdf-profile pdfua2

The kit includes the Northstar invoice and Common Ground report in both component and HTML/CSS authoring forms, the authored accessible community guide, and the field-notes report with reusable page headers and finalized page numbers. All content is fictional. The PDF examples run with Fullbleed alone; optional readers are used only for checking output.

Validation for commit c9958ccb19d10f0ecf11cbc3500f2151844394b9:

  • 370 focused component tests and 973 full Python tests pass.
  • Final-source CI passes 18 jobs; the existing dedicated PDF/VT validator check remains skipped.
  • All 171 Flow case/viewport checks pass in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit. Styled and unstyled exports, nested gaps, margins, fragments, page breaks and styling precedence are covered.
  • Windows and Linux reproduce the reviewed native Flow/page-band PDF bytes and PNG content. Public installation reproduces those outputs and all 38 standalone HTML sources.
  • The standalone source kit reproduces 11 PDF files before optional test dependencies are installed.
  • All 15 public wheels and the source archive match the immutable release artifacts after anonymous downloads.

The independent CSS corpus remains at 1,623 PASS, 21 FAIL, and 18 REFERENCE-DISPUTED. Every fixture verdict and all 7,437 retained PDF/PNG files match alpha 10. No references, comparator settings or thresholds were changed.

The verification summary, validation archive, publication archive, complete corpus and SHA-256 checksums retain the evidence and its scope.

HTML exports are static, with optional styles and no Bootstrap JavaScript. Browser layout does not preview PDF pagination; browser fonts and screen framing remain host concerns. Repeated PDF bands are artifacts outside body reading order, so essential information also belongs in the body.

Prior independent veraPDF receipts apply to the two byte-identical accessible-guide specimens. They do not establish accessibility for arbitrary documents or human assistive-technology usability. The corpus still has known failures; this release does not claim complete CSS conformance.
