Superseded by client-v10, which adds a games column to the workers table. Everything below remains true for this release.

One-zip Windows volunteer client for the MTG sim farm. Unzip, double-click run-client.bat, enter the farm URL and your runner credential on the first-run page, click Start (it installs the farm's engine first if this machine lacks it), pick your work, and go.

New in v9: each worker keeps the mode it was started with. The work-mode picker now describes what the next workers you start will do — Start, or Add while running — and never changes a worker that is already going. The workers table gained a mode column showing what each one was started with. To change a running worker's mode, stop it from its row and start another; that is also how one machine now runs plain backfill and a deck selection side by side (start two in Backfill, pick your decks, Add two more).

Until v8 the picker moved every running worker together on its next claim, so mixing modes was impossible.

From v8: Backfill chosen decks, a third work mode with a deck picker — every deck the farm knows with its game count and matchups still below target, a search box, and a scope (against every other deck, or only against each other). Your selection survives a restart; the mode is offered only by a farm that can take it, and every lease is checked against your selection before a game starts.

Headless: farmrunner.py --mode backfill --decks REF[,REF...] [--scope within], a ref being a deck's label, its hash, or a unique hash prefix.

Ships Windows embeddable Python 3.12.10 and the client with its harness pin baked in; the Forge engine (~205 MB) is downloaded on demand. Knows both fork engines (2.0.14+77f7277a301, 2.0.14+71c2d284cee). Requires a farm advertising active_engine (post-de63260); choosing decks needs a farm listing deck_filter in its hello.
