FX Unleashed 0.6.0

Updates itself from 0.5.x: the banner (or the About tab) offers it, one click installs it, Roll back is there if you want the old one.

What's new

  • The Mustang GT3 dash, rebuilt 1:1. The LMGT3 Ford Mustang GT3 (converted from
Redadeg's SimHub dash on lmu-dashboards.com) now has everything the original has: both pages above the
settings row (tyres and brakes, and the delta bar with lap time and position), every overlay (setting changes, lap summaries per session,
the pit limiter and pit stop screens, flags, low energy, engine off, pit request, lift and coast), the ignition-on sweep and the
ignition-off screen, and the headlights dimming the screen. Checked item by item against the original. The speed above the oval is in a
bigger font, the oval sits a little lower, and the wiper icon only shows with the wipers on (LMU reports 1 with them off).
  • Dash pages. A dash can have pages (Pages, and page:N in an element's conditions). Flip them with Next page / Previous page:
SimHub actions you can bind to any button, wheel buttons, or the buttons next to Demo on the wheel on the Dashes tab. The designer
has a pages editor. Dashes with pages use dash format 3 and need this version.
  • Ovals and rounded boxes drawn by the screen itself. The FX Pro's screen can draw smooth (anti-aliased) shapes of its own: the
plugin now draws overlays' ovals, rings and rounded boxes that way instead of keeping a picture of each in the screen's memory. They are
smooth with or without the screen's RAM patch, in any colour, and the Mustang needs about half the screen memory it did (77 KB, was
158 KB). A setting pop-up going away now puts back only what was under it, not a block of the dash around it.
  • Dim. A dash element that darkens the whole screen while its conditions hold (the Mustang's headlights), with the backlight: nothing
    is redrawn.
  • Checks for dash makers. fxdash verify --overlays brings up every overlay on every page and reports what each costs and whether
anything flashes; --demo runs exactly what Demo on the wheel shows. The designer has an overlay picker and the same check, and
Make them take turns for values half under an overlay.
  • SimHub import. Pages, overlay screens, blinking items, layer opacity, leaderboard items and the speed in the user's unit come over.
  • Slow updates in the log. A dash update that sends over 6 KB or takes over half a second is written to SimHub's log with what it drew.

Everything else is as in 0.5.3.

Requirements

SimHub 9.11 or newer, SimPro Manager 3 (V3.2.2 tested) for standard mode, an FX Pro or GT Neo. Tested by the maintainer on one FX Pro on an Alpha EVO
base: other bases, wheels and games may behave differently, so please report what you find (Discord or GitHub issues).

Install and update

From 0.5.x: let it update itself (About tab). New install: close SimHub, copy User.FXProRpmSync.dll from the zip into your SimHub folder, start SimHub,
turn the plugin on. Guide: https://fxunleashed.com/start/

Custom firmware for Unleashed mode

Unleashed mode (your own dashes, all 38 lights, the dash button) needs our custom firmware for the wheel, build 9 or newer. Standard mode needs nothing.

The whole path in one guide: fxunleashed.com/start (about 15 minutes, every step says what you should see)

  1. Custom firmware: download it here and flash it with SimPro (Settings > Update > Manual Firmware Flash). Please read the short notice first: it is your wheel's own program, at your own risk, and Simagic's original is always one flash away.
  2. This plugin (the zip below).
  3. The screen's RAM patch (picture memory): optional, but highly recommended.
  4. Your dashes and lights.
