Missing faces

If it looks like faces are missing, they probably aren't missing, just facing the wrong direction. You can see which way faces are facing either by turning on "face orientation" and seeing which faces are red

Alternatively you can turn on "backface culling". Any faces facing the wrong way will disappear

To fix this, select the problem faces, press Alt-N, and click "Flip" or "Recalculate Outside"

Alternatively, you may not have selected everything when you exported the .md3.

Missing/incorrect texture

If a texture can't be found/loaded, the game will load the sprites as the texture instead, there's a few possible issues that can cause this which are covered in the Textures section of the Common Things and Tips page. Maybe go read that.

Wrong size

All templates are made to match the default scale(3.0) of the default models in models.dat.

  • If you've used the templates then changed the scale in models.dat, you'll need to change it back to the default of 3.0.
  • If you've made your model without the use of the templates, you'll have to figure out what the scale should be by trial and error.
