Status Effects & Overlay Polish
Status Effects & Overlay Polish
This release reworks how status effects show in the overlay and adds a few quality-of-life improvements.
- New: Stacking debuffs. The separate Poison, Bleed, Burn, and Radiation widgets have been replaced with a single Debuffs group that stacks as effects apply, keeping your overlay tidy.
- New debuffs tracked (with more on the way). Sunstroke and Blood drinker are now tracked, and Spitdart is correctly recognized as a poison source.
- Clearer countdowns. Status effects now use a solid red fill during the countdown phase so remaining time is easier to read at a glance.
- New: Dashboard Quick Actions. A Quick Actions widget has been added to the dashboard.
- New: Map hotkey. Press Alt+M to toggle the map window, with a new "Open Map" button.
- Base management. You can now remove a base and mark bases as favorites in the Bases tab.
- Cleaner layout. The session tabs have been restructured with a tidier section layout.
- Sign-in gate. The launcher now shows a sign-in screen up front, with fixes to session handling and cloud refresh.
- Overlay stability. Fixed an edit-mode crash when moving or opening widgets, added a warning when the overlay can't draw over a fullscreen game, and tuned the hover-to-interact behavior so it feels less twitchy.
- Faster and lighter. Performance improvements across the app, with roughly 50% less memory usage.
- More freeze fixes. Another pass on stability to prevent freezes.
If you are on 0.1.38, update to this version.
Base Tracking
Base Tracking
This release adds base tracking and brings your Landsraad and Base status to the web.
- New: Base tracking. The app now tracks the bases you have owner or co-owner access to, along with their power, water, and storage status. Tracking updates when you enter a base (the game notification shows the power remaining) and when you visit the sub-fief console.
- New: View your status on the web. You can now see your Landsraad and Base statuses at https://dune.gaming.tools/my.
- More freeze and crash fixes. Another pass on stability to prevent freezes and crashes.
- Smarter ad widget. The ad widget now tries to detect when you intend to move or click it. By default the widget is click-through and only becomes interactive after you hover it for a moment, preventing accidental movement and clicks.
If you are on 0.1.37, update to this version.
Ad Removal Fix
Ad Removal Fix
This release fixes an issue where ad removal did not always apply correctly.
- Ad removal now applies reliably. In some cases the ad panel could still appear even though your account had ad removal, especially when the companion started while the game was already running. This is now fixed.
- Other small bug fixes.
If you are on 0.1.36, update to this version.
Overlay Edit Mode Fixes
Overlay Edit Mode Fixes
This release fixes unintended crashes that could happen while using overlay edit mode.
- No more edit-mode crashes. Moving or opening overlays while in edit mode could cause the app to crash unexpectedly. This is now fixed.
- Other small bug fixes.
If you are on 0.1.35, update to this version.
Ad Panel Fix
Ad Panel Fix
This release fixes the in-app ad panel showing up blank on installed builds.
- Ad panel renders again. The embedded web view now stores its data in a per-user folder instead of next to the app, so it works correctly when the app is installed under Program Files. If the panel was blank for you, it will load after updating.
If you are on 0.1.34, update to this version.
Cloud Settings, Landsraad Routes and New Widgets
Companion App 0.1.34 Release Notes
- First, the bad news: I've added a small Ad to the app. It can be moved anywhere on the screen, but cannot be removed. It can be removed by using one of the membership options at https://member.gaming.tools/premium. (gotta make a living, sorry)
- Your settings now persist in-cloud. As a result of this, all your current settings reset, just this once.
- Landraad reward route guidance feature is back and can be activated on Landsraad tab!
- Added a simple live map, mostly for Landsraad Route feature. This is the extend of this feature. In case you are looking for a true minimap, please use the https://th.gl one.
- Added Shield Damage numbers (enemy).
- Added Poison, Radiation, Burn and Bleed widgets.
- Added Worm Threat widget (shh!).
- The bar widgets (except the arc stats ones) are much more customizable now.
- App now shows a warning if the game is in true Fullscreen mode which is not supported.
Security Update
Security Update
This release fixes a signing issue introduced in 0.0.32 that could prevent the Companion from connecting to the game.
- Connection fix. The Companion can connect to the game again after updating.
Players on 0.0.32 should update to this version.
Fewer crashes, steadier damage text
Fewer crashes, steadier damage text
A round of stability fixes to keep the Companion running smoothly.
- More stability fixes. We tracked down more cases where the app could crash or hang, and shut them down.
- Cleaner NPC damage text. Further fixes to how damage numbers show up on NPCs.
Plus the usual round of behind-the-scenes improvements and fixes.
A steadier overlay
A steadier overlay
Two changes to make the overlay calmer and easier to set up.
- No more flicker. The overlay could blink or flash when other on-screen overlays were running alongside it. It now stays rock-steady.
- Simpler performance widget. The performance widget (FPS and ping) now has a single Enabled checkbox. Switch it on and it stays on screen whenever the overlay is up — no more setting it separately for each activity.
Plus the usual round of behind-the-scenes improvements and fixes.
Easier updates
Easier updates
Staying up to date no longer means a trip to your browser.
- Update right inside the app. When a new version is ready, click Download and install and the Companion takes it from there — it downloads the update and starts the installer for you.
- See it happen. A progress window shows the download as it goes, and the Companion reopens on the new version once the install finishes.
- You stay in control. Updates only start when you choose to, and you click through the installer just like before.
Plus the usual round of behind-the-scenes improvements and fixes.
