Distribution, implementation

• MiKTeX - an up-to-date implementation of TeX/LaTeX and related programs.
• proTeXt - aims to be an easy-to-install TeX distribution for Windows, based on MiKTeX.
• TeX Live - an easy way to get up and running with the TeX document production system. It provides a comprehensive TeX system with binaries for most flavors of Unix, including GNU/Linux, and also Windows. It includes all the major TeX-related programs, macro packages, and fonts that are free software, including support for many languages around the world.

• LyX - a document processor that encourages an approach to writing based on the structure of your documents (WYSIWYM) and not simply their appearance (WYSIWYG). LyX combines the power and flexibility of TeX/LaTeX with the ease of use of a graphical interface.

• rtf2latex2e - a program that translates RTF (rich text format) files into LaTeX files. It translates text formatting, tables, figures, and equations. The resulting LaTeX files are intended to be quite readable and suitable for editing.
