A coherent story. The keeper’s papers, the gardener’s slate, the drowned score, the seal, the journal, hints, act titles and the ending now tell one story. Elias Vale left his evening rounds unfinished on the night Mara, the gardener, was lost, and the house has kept that rainy evening ever since. Finishing his rounds lets it end. The handwritten letters on the desks print exactly the text you read, and the builder refuses to ship them out of step.
A quieter interface. The permanent controls and chapter labels are gone; each act is announced once as it begins. Letters appear on paper in the keeper’s handwriting, the slate in chalk, the score and seal in bronze. The journal keeps the rounds, every page you have read, and optional hints. Settings are grouped, with separate volume and music controls. Interaction prompts show the keys to press.
New sound and music. An original score for piano, harp and strings answers each finished round and gives way whenever the bells must be heard. Rain falls on the vault until the light comes home; the sea, wind, water and the brass and stone mechanisms are heard where they are. The four bells are retuned handbells that keep their exact pitches, and the written score remains. Footsteps, small metal sounds and paper are adapted from Kenney’s CC0 packs; everything else was made for Haze. Every sound’s source and licence ships in Credits.
Fixes. On macOS, a visit saved before the Haze rename is found again (and left untouched). The keeper’s seal no longer has an invisible collision dome around its foot. The ending turns toward the tree Mara planted.
This preview includes complete Windows x64, macOS universal and Linux x64 players, launch instructions, credits, SHA-256 checksums and a new 42-second native trailer.
The complete native Mac and Omarchy walkthroughs each passed 690 checks, with zero failures and runtime errors; Metal and Linux OpenGL environment runs each passed 195 checks. Each walkthrough now records the live mix at the listener and checks it: no clipping, footsteps that stand out, music that steps back for the bells, tuned bells, a silent mute. Native screenshots were reviewed, and the recordings were measured and inspected as spectrograms. Full results appear in VALIDATION.md on the repository; archive hashes and platform status are in the release manifest.
Windows runtime remains unverified. Intel Mac runtime is also unverified. The Mac app is ad-hoc signed and is not Apple-notarized; Windows is unsigned. Existing visits and preferences remain compatible.
