APRSdroid is an Android application for pushing your current GPS coordinates (and maybe also messages, some day) to the APRS-IS network.
APRSdroid is Open Source Software written in Scala.

More or less usable builds are available from the download repository
Once you have downloaded the software, check the settings page for hints on its configuration.
APRSdroid needs a nice logo corresponding to the Android icon design guides – maybe something involving a green robot and/or a handset or a TNC or something else. The author is graphically impaired but will accept reasonable designs for inclusion.
We have created an APRSdroid translation project at launchpad. You can now help translate APRSdroid into your mother tongue!
The current version of APRSdroid (starting with 0.6.1) comes with support for Danish, German, Japanese, Norwegian, (Polish) and Turkish. Many thanks to the contributors, and do not hesitate to contact the author in case of problems!

The following TODO items have been implemented:
- Creation of APRS packets
- Post packets using HTTP or UDP
- Configuration dialog for callsign, update period, server
- Add a Welcome + HAM-only dialog window
- Send speed + direction + altitude if available
- Posted on some Markets: SlideME AndAppStore
- Make more nifty icon
- Major rework of main screen (larger packet font)
- Add EditText boxes for ssid and message to main screen
- Settings profiles (walking / driving / …; storing the SSID, icon and update ranges)
- Add a night mode theme
- Allow to change displayed icon (needs a proper graphical selector, or at least a list view)
- Add log window for previous tracks
- Change distance and interval to sliders (would fix crash on invalid input as well)
- Optionnally display notification when in background
