Pasted 1.0.0 RC8 makes the signed update experience clearer, calmer, and easier to verify before installation.

Highlights

  • Moved release notes behind a concise View changes… control and now render them as GitHub-flavored Markdown in a focused dialog.
  • Reworked the installation confirmation with a positive shield treatment and a short checklist covering library preservation, signature verification, mismatch rejection, and restart behavior.
  • Added the initiating ellipsis to Install and restart… while keeping the final confirmation action immediate and unambiguous.
  • Localized the complete update experience across Arabic, English, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
  • Added a repeatable browser preview for accepting updater UI changes before a release is cut.

RC7 users on the prerelease channel can open About and check for RC8 after the updater feed finishes publishing.

Standalone pasted CLI binaries, updater signatures, per-platform SHA-256 manifests, source and exact-artifact SPDX SBOMs, third-party notices, and the matching Homebrew Cask are included with this release.

Privacy and verification

Pasted stores its library locally and includes no analytics or telemetry. Intelligence-assisted Transforms contact a provider only when explicitly run through an enabled connection; Apple Intelligence runs through the on-device system model when available.

The macOS draft artifact was downloaded back from GitHub and verified for disk-image integrity, universal Apple Silicon and Intel architectures, nested CLI and app signatures, Developer ID acceptance, Gatekeeper acceptance, and its stapled notarization ticket. The downloaded installer and updater-bundle checksums match SHA256SUMS-macos.txt; use the corresponding manifests to verify downloads on other platforms.
