Buddy can now act on your notifications: Notification rules.

Notification rules

• Settings → Experience → Notification rules. A rule picks an app, optionally who it's from and words it contains, and says what the agent should do: "reply with our opening hours", "tell me in one line what it says", "if it's a delivery, put it in my calendar".
• Each conversation gets its own chat, so the agent remembers what it answered before. Each rule picks its agent and model (a smaller model is quicker and uses less of your plan).
• The agent can answer through the notification's own Reply field, without opening the app, even while the phone is locked.
• Before acting, a rule asks you as usual, or uses a countdown (10 s to 5 min): the approval card approves itself unless you tap to stop it. Only sending a message can be approved that way, and only after a second AI has checked the reply against your rule.
• Each run ends with a quiet notification saying what it did, and the rules screen lists recent activity.
• Buddy needs notification access for this and asks before opening the setting. Notifications that no rule matches are ignored right away.

Safety

• A rule's run works for someone else's message, so it gets less than a chat you start: no shell, files or web (even in developer mode), no installing apps, your Trust settings don't apply, and opening a link always asks you.
• At most 5 runs an hour per conversation and 30 in all, one at a time, never while another chat is working.
• Approval cards no longer show over the lock screen: a notification says one is waiting, and approving needs the phone unlocked.
• The Smart reviewer's model can now be picked in App permissions (Haiku by default).

Languages

• All new texts are in Buddy's 16 languages.

Updating

Buddy will tell you about this update (or ask any agent "update yourself"). Otherwise install buddy.apk below over your current Buddy; your chats, settings and sign-ins are kept.
