OpenJKDF2 Modern 1.0

The first public Windows x64 build of this independent, vendor-neutral
OpenJKDF2 modernization fork.

What it adds

  • Modern FPS controls for new players, with a saved Modern/Classic control-style switch.
  • Native-resolution Borderless Fullscreen by default, plus safer display selection and recovery.
  • Standards-based OpenGL 3.3 rendering, diagnostics, fallbacks, and frame-pacing tools.
  • Steam/GOG discovery, portable mode, crash diagnostics, and a display watchdog.

GPU compatibility

This release is not AMD-only. It is intended for AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel GPUs
with an OpenGL 3.3 core-profile driver. The recorded hardware evidence was
captured on an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX; other GPU families are unverified, not
excluded.

Install

Download and fully extract OpenJKDF2-AMD-Enhanced-windows-x64-1.0.zip. Its
archive name is retained for 1.0 release continuity, but it is the
vendor-neutral OpenJKDF2 Modern build. Run Install.ps1, then launch the
desktop shortcut. The launcher discovers a legal Steam or GOG installation, or
asks you to select the original game folder.

This package contains the enhanced engine only. No original game files or
third-party enhancement packs are included.
