Cardboard SDK v1.34.0 (2026-05-28)

Breaking & behavioral changes

  • iOS: Increased minimum iOS support version to iOS 15.0.
  • iOS: When camera permission is denied, a dialog is now shown to explain why it is needed and provide a button to open Settings. Previously, the Settings screen was opened automatically.

New APIs and capabilities

  • iOS: Added support for TN3187: Migrating to the UIKit scene-based life cycle.
  • Open-sourced Paperscope, a new Android demo app that developers can use to explore the Cardboard SDK and learn how to build immersive experiences.
  • Upgraded com.google.protobuf:protobuf-gradle-plugin to 0.10.0 from 0.9.4.
