Highlights

Adds support for PHP 7.4 through 8.5 and modernises the dev toolchain. Backward-compatible for consumers — only the supported PHP range widens; all tooling bumps are dev-only.

• Bumped the test/dev database in docker-compose.yml from mysql:8.0 to mysql:8.4.

Notes

No consumer-facing changes — src/ and the Dockerfile are unchanged from v7.0.0, so the published Composer package and graze/morphism Docker image are functionally identical to the previous release. This patch only records that morphism connects cleanly to MySQL 8.4 (which defaults to caching_sha2_password) via PDO/mysqlnd; the full functional flow (diff, dump, mysqldump, lint, extract) was verified against 8.4 in CI.

Breaking changes

• Dropped PHP 7.2 and 7.3 support. Minimum PHP is now 7.4 (composer.json requires ^7.4).
• Bumped symfony/console and symfony/yaml to ^5 (from ^2 | ^3 | ^4). This restores Composer installability now that the older Symfony releases are blocked by security advisories.

• Multi-arch Docker images. A new GitHub Actions workflow builds and pushes linux/amd64 + linux/arm64 manifests to Docker Hub graze/morphism on vX.Y.Z tag pushes, fixing no matching manifest for linux/arm64/v8 pulls on Apple Silicon.
• New make build-docker (host-arch, --load) and make build-docker-multiarch (PLATFORMS, opt-in PUSH=1) buildx targets for local builds.

Internal

• Command::execute() now returns int (required by Symfony Console v5).
• Removed the legacy Docker Hub Automated Builds hooks/build script.
• Pinned phpunit/phpunit to ^8 and trimmed the CI matrix to PHP 7.4.
