Installation

  1. Download protege-plugin-roles-1.0.0.jar below
  2. Copy it into Protégé's plugins/ directory (e.g. /path/to/Protege-5.6.9/plugins/)
  3. Restart Protégé — a Roles tab will appear

Tested with Protégé 5.6.9 on Linux. Requires Java 11+.

What's included

  • Roles tab with a two-panel layout: hierarchy tree on the left, role description on the right
  • Context Types and Roles defined as annotated OWL classes
  • Sub-role hierarchy via standard OWL SubClassOf axioms
  • Multiple "played by" classes per role (add/remove from the description panel)
  • All metadata stored as standard OWL 2 annotations — round-trip safe, SPARQL queryable
