Syncthing Menu is now signed with a renewed Apple developer certificate. Nothing else has changed.

1.0.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Sep 02:41

Changed

  • Updating Syncthing no longer triggers a macOS permission prompt or breaks access to your folders.
  • The menu bar icon shows an up arrow while Syncthing is updating instead of dimming.

1.0.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Sep 04:27

Syncthing Menu 1.0 marks the app as stable. Nothing has changed since 0.4.0.

0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Sep 23:13

Added

  • Each folder in the Folders menu has its own submenu: Open in Finder, Rescan, and Pause or Resume.
  • A Devices menu lists your other devices, each with Pause or Resume.
  • Pause and caution marks show which folders and devices need a look, on the rows and on the menu items above them.

Changed

  • Rescan All and Pause All now live at the top of the Folders and Devices menus.
  • The status line reads "All Paused" with a green dot while every device is paused; orange is reserved for problems.

0.3.9

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Sep 16:58

Added

  • Activity rows show a file, folder, or link icon beside the name.

Changed

  • Every file change is listed individually in the Activity log, as it happens; large batches are no longer summarized as "N changes" rows, so any file can be found by search while it is still in the log.
  • The Activity log keeps the most recent 5,000 rows (previously 500).

0.3.8

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 05 Sep 17:35

Added

  • A "Record activity" setting: keep recording sync activity while the Activity window is closed, or only while it is open (the default).
  • The Activity window keeps its log when closed and reopened.
  • The Activity log notes when recording started or paused and when the connection to Syncthing was lost or restored.
  • The Activity log records folder and device events: pause and resume, devices going online or offline, a folder stopping with an error, and the file watcher failing or recovering. A filter switch hides them.
  • A Clear button (⌘K) empties the Activity log.

Changed

  • Searching by name in the Activity window shows only file rows.
  • Batches of up to 100 changed files are listed individually in the Activity window; only larger batches are summarized as "N changes" (previously 25).

0.3.7

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Sep 23:45

Changed

  • The Activity window is redesigned as a live activity log. It opens empty and records sync events as they happen — a change detected, a file sending to or arriving from another device, a delivery confirmed, a failure — one row per event, newest first, each naming the file and the device involved. Nothing is replayed from before the window opened, rows never change once written, and closing the window clears it.
  • Very large batches of changes (an app churning thousands of files at once) are summarized as single "N changes" rows instead of flooding the log; files actually transferring still appear individually.
  • Deleted files show their name struck through, from detection through delivery.
  • The Activity window toolbar gained a search field: type part of a file name to follow just that file's activity as it happens.
  • The Pause All and Rescan All buttons were removed from the Activity window; those commands live in the menu.

Fixed

  • The Activity window no longer shows files as waiting to sync when they already finished syncing.
  • During large syncs, files appear in the Activity window as they actually transfer, and each file's delivery is confirmed individually — including when a confirmation slips past the live event stream.

0.3.6

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Aug 19:44

Fixed

  • Fixes a regression introduced in 0.3.5: a Syncthing update could disturb macOS folder permissions — showing an unexpected permissions prompt, or leaving Syncthing unable to access protected folders until Syncthing Menu was relaunched.
  • Properly fixes the issue 0.3.5 set out to fix: a Syncthing update could leave Syncthing stopped with an error until it was started manually. Updates now install at a quiet moment and Syncthing is relaunched cleanly right after.

Changed

  • The menu's Syncthing status shows "Updating…" while a Syncthing update installs, matching the Settings window.

0.3.5

@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Aug 18:33

Fixed

  • Installing a Syncthing update could leave Syncthing stopped with an error until it was started manually. Updates now finish cleanly, and the Settings card confirms the new version once the update completes.
  • The menu bar icon no longer freezes on stale sync activity when Syncthing stops responding.

0.3.4

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Aug 03:13

Added

  • Syncthing Menu can now work with a Syncthing you run yourself. A new choice in Settings — Syncthing is "managed by this app" (the default, as before) or "managed by me" — connects it to your own local Syncthing using the port and API key you provide. When Syncthing is managed by you, Syncthing Menu is purely an interface: it never downloads, starts, stops, or updates Syncthing, while the menu, status, and Activity window all work as usual.
