added
- regimen: a second module for the physical side of the climb, with five areas (body, workouts, nutrition, routines, sleep) and a summary card on home
- body: log weight and nine measurements per day, with a weight trend chart, a smoothed 7-day line, and a history table you can jump back into
- derived body stats from an optional profile (sex, birth date, height, activity level): resting burn, daily burn, suggested calories and protein, a tape-measure body-fat estimate, lean mass, ffmi, bmi, and waist-to-height. every figure is labeled an estimate with its error range, and the suggested calories and protein only reach your nutrition targets when you apply them
- weight goals: gain, maintain, or cut with an optional target weight and date, showing the rate it needs, a projection line on the trend chart, whether you are on or behind pace, and how far along you are. a goal that implies losing more than 1% or gaining more than 0.5% of bodyweight a week is flagged, and a suggested intake below your resting burn or below 1500 kcal warns instead of being quietly recommended
- workouts: log a session as sets per exercise, with a progression chart and pr markers for each exercise
- a muscle map: a figure showing which muscles an exercise or a whole session works, with per-exercise overrides on top of the category defaults, plus a weekly view shaded by sets in the last 7 days and a plain list of muscles with nothing logged
- nutrition: carbs and fat alongside calories and protein, each with an optional target, a 7-day rolling average as the headline number, a cross-check when the macros and the calories disagree by more than 10%, days-logged counts, and a chart of intake against the weight trend
- quick-add presets for foods you log often: one click adds their macros to the day, and presets can be reordered and archived
- routines: per-step weekday schedules, so a step only shows on the days it runs, and a day with nothing scheduled reads as a rest day rather than a miss
- starter routine templates on the empty state, keyboard reordering of steps, a check-all with undo, and an optional reminder per routine that stays quiet once that routine is done for the day
- sleep: log bedtime and wake time (or just a duration) with a 1 to 5 quality, and see a duration chart against your target, nights at target, and how much your bedtime moves around
- insights: short observations on the regimen dashboard and the home card, three at a time at most, each dismissible for the day. every rule waits for enough logged days before it says anything
changed
- streaks are off by default. the multiplier, streak counts, and flames stay hidden while they are off, and history is scored without the multiplier too, so totals drop for anyone who had streaks running
- the settings archive lists everything archived, grouped as habits, exercises, routines, routine steps, and food presets. habits keep restore and delete forever; regimen items are restore only
- json export moves to schema 5 and carries every regimen table. files exported by 0.3.0 through 0.5.0 still import, with the new tables arriving empty
- "erase everything" also clears the regimen data now (measurements, goals, workouts, nutrition, presets, routines, and sleep) along with habits, logs, and settings. it still writes a backup snapshot first and restarts into onboarding
- the database upgrades itself on first launch. existing habits, logs, and settings carry over untouched
fixed
- penalty habits subtract their full weight on a relapse and earn nothing on a clean day. before, a clean day added points and a relapse cost only the miss penalty, so any score that includes a penalty habit changes

added
- on time habit type: log a day as on time, late, or missed, with an optional target time shown as guidance. on time earns full credit, late earns half and breaks the streak
- penalty habit type for things to avoid: always on, every day. a clean day earns the habit's points and grows a days-clean streak, a slip costs the miss penalty
- habit heatmaps are real calendars now: month blocks with day numbers replace the compact grid, scrolled to the current month
- a loading screen with the rising logo covers startup until the app is ready
changed
- saving a day returns to the progress page. the visible Ctrl+Enter hint is gone, the shortcut still works
- text outside inputs and copy-worthy paths (file locations, backup names) can no longer be selected
- the windows start menu and installed-apps entries are capitalized "Ascend" so windows search finds the app. folders, file names, and everything inside the app stay lowercase
- the app icon fills its frame instead of sitting inside transparent padding
- the database upgrades itself on first launch to support the new habit types; json exports from older versions still import

added
- customizable accent color in settings > appearance, with derived hover and glow shades and on-accent text picked automatically for contrast; the logo stays baby blue
- archived habits can be restored, or deleted forever behind a type-to-confirm step with an automatic backup first; deleting forever also removes the habit's logs and recomputes historical scores
changed
- the product name is lowercase ascend everywhere; existing windows installs keep their data, no action needed
- the comfortable/compact density setting now scales control heights, paddings, row gaps, and charts, not just the text size
- a fully keyboard-operable control kit replaces every native select, time, color, and checkbox control
- confirm dialogs are in-app and themed instead of native popups
fixed
- the new-habit name field could not be typed into after dismissing a confirm dialog
- habit heatmaps label all seven weekdays and no longer confuse an unscheduled day with a day before the habit existed
- a broken export file fails the import with a clear message instead of a database error

highlights
- weighted habits with per-day schedules: binary, quantity, and duration types
- a pure scoring engine: streak multipliers, penalties for logged misses, partial credit, and effective-dated parameter changes (history is never rescored)
- charts that draw your climb: cumulative ascent line, daily bars, completion heatmap
- a home screen with momentum vs last week, top streaks, and a 14-day sparkline
- three dark themes (midnight, graphite, void) with integrated window chrome
- json export and import, daily startup backups with one-click restore
- an "erase everything" flow behind a type-to-confirm step, with an automatic backup first
- local reminders and launch-at-startup, no network anywhere
