LowEnd Forge 0.1.11

@hannes-wan hannes-wan released this 27 Jul 16:45

LowEnd Forge Community Edition is free to download and use.

LowEnd Forge now keeps its bass-transcription workflow intact while resolving optional Microsoft Store metadata from the live catalog.

  • The Community workflow still imports local audio, performs bass-stem separation and onset and pitch analysis, and saves the reviewed transcription in versioned .lforge projects.
  • Advanced note editing, quantization, MIDI export, and PDF export keep their existing capability boundary; bass-only and no-bass WAV practice exports remain in Community.
  • StoreContext accepts only the exact durable add-on ID with non-empty localized catalog metadata, refreshes account ownership after the native dialog, and keeps restore independent.
  • The bass separator returns to HTDemucs' native 25% overlap rather than the 75% maximum-overlap pass, removing two redundant inference windows from the five-second release canary while keeping the downstream quiet-note recovery and pitch-guidance stages.

@hannes-wan hannes-wan released this 17 Jul 11:55

LowEnd Forge 0.1.8

LowEnd Forge Community Edition is free to download and use. This release keeps the core desktop workflow available without a subscription requirement.

What stands out in this release

  • Bass transcription now combines official Basic Pitch onset evidence with CREPE periodicity and bass-specific reattack logic, recovering short or swallowed notes without splitting sustained tones on weak evidence.
  • Portable .lforge projects can embed and integrity-check the original source plus isolated bass and accompaniment stems alongside the complete editable session.
  • The practice mixer now plays the real bass and backing stems with independent gain, mute, and solo control through the shared realtime playback engine.
  • Cancellation is end-to-end and race-safe: stale progress or completion from a cancelled analysis can no longer overwrite a replacement job.

@hannes-wan hannes-wan released this 12 Jul 08:55

LowEnd Forge 0.1.7

LowEnd Forge Community Edition is free to download and use. This release keeps the core desktop workflow available without a subscription requirement.

What stands out in this release

  • Basic Pitch onset evidence and the full CREPE monophonic pitch model work together to correct octave harmonics and recover short, high-confidence ghost notes.
  • The recognition-only stem uses a true-silence timed gate, compression, excitation, and broad midrange EQ while playback keeps the untouched separated bass.
  • Repeated-pitch notes split only when learned onset evidence and a real envelope reset agree, avoiding sustain fragmentation and gate-closing artifacts.
  • Installers bundle the CREPE ONNX model with MIT provenance and retain the HTDemucs, Basic Pitch, and ONNX Runtime resource chain.

  • The release refined PDF preview and export while retaining MIDI and MusicXML handoff paths for downstream notation workflows.

LowEnd Forge Community Edition is free to download and use.

Technical release evidence

  • Local audio transcription produces a bass-focused draft while keeping the source waveform available for note-by-note listening and correction.
  • The editable four-string tab retains timing, pitch, string, and fret decisions so machine output remains a reviewable starting point.
  • Quantization plus MIDI, MusicXML, PDF, and text handoff cover practical rehearsal and notation workflows without uploading the source recording.
