Interface elements descriptions

Motion controls

  • Up and Down arrows move the dropgen by the Travel Length (default 1 mm)
  • Current position in mm is displayed between up and down arrows
  • GoTo input field allows input of a location in mm to move the dropgen to. After entering a float value, click GoTo to begin the travel move
  • Home begins a slow move upwards until the endstop is triggered. When the endstop is reached, the machine position is set to zero
  • SetZero allows the user to set the zero position of the machine at an arbitrary location. This may be useful if you want an easy way to see position relative to some set point
  • Lock allows the user to save the current position to be recalled later by ReturnTo. The saved position will be affected by changes to SetZero
  • ReturnTo begins a move back to a position saved by using Lock, if one is set

GPIO controls

  • Drop Gen On/Off allows the user to toggle the piezo output. When on, the piezo will trigger until the dropgen has dispensed the set number of droplets
  • Camera On/Off toggles the camera trigger output. When on, the camera trigger output will be pulled high after Camera Delay (ms) from when the droplet pulse is completed

Settings

  • Pulse Width (μs) sets pulse time of piezo when a droplet is created
  • Drop Interval (ms) sets the time between droplets
  • Drop Number sets the number of droplets to dispense when Drop Gen On/Off is pressed
  • Travel Length (mm) sets the distance to travel when Up and Down arrows are pressed. Can be a float value (0.1 mm for instance)
  • Camera Delay (ms) sets the time between the end of the drop pulse to when the camera trigger output is pulled high
