Releases: hendev75/YOM
Release list
YOM v1.4.0 - Player whitelist, update splash, persistent data
YOM v1.4.0
Fixes
- Player embeds (VidSrc family, embed.su, 2embed, autoembed, smashy, vidlink, filemoon, multiembed, etc.) are now whitelisted, so clicking a player loads the stream instead of being blocked by the adblocker.
- window.open is intercepted: ad popups are dropped, but legitimate player navigations are kept by reusing the main window.
New
- Animated YOM splash on startup with a red loading spinner that says "Checking for updates" and queries GitHub Releases for hendev75/YOM. If a newer version is available you can open the release page in your default browser with one click; otherwise the splash fades out automatically.
- Persistent user data on every platform. Saved lists, watch history, timestamps, favorites and similar localStorage/IndexedDB data are now stored in a stable per-user folder so they survive restarts and updates:
- Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\YOM
- macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/YOM
- Linux/BSD: $XDG_DATA_HOME/YOM (or ~/.local/share/YOM)
Improvements
- Smoother first paint: splash mounts before the page is interactive, then fades.
- Update check times out at 6 seconds and the splash auto-dismisses within 8 seconds at most so it never blocks the UI.

- Run YOM.exe (Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime is required; pre-installed on Windows 11 and most updated Windows 10)
YOM v1.3.0 - Real fullscreen + smoother UX
YOM v1.3.0
Fixes
- Fullscreen now expands the entire app window across the monitor (Windows, macOS, Linux/BSD), not just the video element.
- F11 toggles fullscreen, Escape exits fullscreen.
- Smoother window/frame transitions when entering and leaving fullscreen.
Improvements
- Native fullscreen bridge wired through a JS-to-native binding; in-page fullscreen requests are intercepted so the OS window goes fullscreen.
- Built-in adblocker remains enabled by default with cosmetic filtering and anti-detector spoofing.

YOM v1.2.0 - Cosmetic filters + anti-anti-adblock
What's new
🛡️ Much stronger adblocker. Three big upgrades to defeat the cases where v1.1.0 still showed ads or got the "please disable your adblocker" popup:
1. Cosmetic filtering (CSS hiding)
Hides ad elements directly in the DOM by selector — even when the ad markup is served first-party from the same domain as the site. Targets [id^="div-gpt-ad"], ins.adsbygoogle, [class*="advert"], [class*="banner-ad"], [class*="sponsored"], ad iframes, and many more.
2. First-party path patterns
URLs containing /ads, /pagead, /adserver, /sponsored, /tracking, /analytics, /beacon, etc. are blocked even on the page's own domain (where domain blocklists can't help).
3. Anti-anti-adblock spoofing
The window now lies to detector scripts:
window.canRunAds = true,adblockDetected = false,google_ad_status = 1adsbygoogleis a Proxy that reportsloaded: truegtag,ga,_paq,fbq,dataLayerare stubbed so analytics scripts never throw
4. Adblock-warning suppression
DOM nodes whose text matches "please disable your ad-blocker", "ad-blocker detected", "whitelist this site", etc. are removed on sight.
Note on uBlock Origin Lite
Loading the Microsoft Edge Add-ons version of uBO Lite as a real Chromium extension would require WebView2's AreBrowserExtensionsEnabled API — which the cross-platform webview library doesn't expose. The bundled JS adblocker now covers the same defaults (EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Peter Lowe's list) plus the cosmetic and anti-detector pieces, identically on Windows, macOS, Linux and BSD.
