YOM v1.2.0 - Cosmetic filters + anti-anti-adblock
What's new
🛡️ Much stronger adblocker. Three big upgrades to defeat the cases where v1.1.0 still showed ads or got the "please disable your adblocker" popup:
1. Cosmetic filtering (CSS hiding)
Hides ad elements directly in the DOM by selector — even when the ad markup is served first-party from the same domain as the site. Targets [id^="div-gpt-ad"], ins.adsbygoogle, [class*="advert"], [class*="banner-ad"], [class*="sponsored"], ad iframes, and many more.
2. First-party path patterns
URLs containing /ads, /pagead, /adserver, /sponsored, /tracking, /analytics, /beacon, etc. are blocked even on the page's own domain (where domain blocklists can't help).
3. Anti-anti-adblock spoofing
The window now lies to detector scripts:
window.canRunAds = true,adblockDetected = false,google_ad_status = 1adsbygoogleis a Proxy that reportsloaded: truegtag,ga,_paq,fbq,dataLayerare stubbed so analytics scripts never throw
4. Adblock-warning suppression
DOM nodes whose text matches "please disable your ad-blocker", "ad-blocker detected", "whitelist this site", etc. are removed on sight.
Note on uBlock Origin Lite
Loading the Microsoft Edge Add-ons version of uBO Lite as a real Chromium extension would require WebView2's AreBrowserExtensionsEnabled API — which the cross-platform webview library doesn't expose. The bundled JS adblocker now covers the same defaults (EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Peter Lowe's list) plus the cosmetic and anti-detector pieces, identically on Windows, macOS, Linux and BSD.
