  • A design with a large imported mesh opens again: With the workplane on a face, opening such a design stopped with "Maximum call stack size exceeded": the editor projected every body onto the workplane for the sketch view - even with no sketch open - and measured the points with Math.min(...list), which overflows for a few hundred thousand points. It now measures in a loop, and only while a sketch is open. Reported by @Elchifli in #190.
  • Y counts towards the back (right-handed axes): The Y position counted towards the front, which with X to the right and Z up is left-handed - unlike Tinkercad, CAD programs and the slicers, and unlike layerling's own pattern tool and MCP bridge. Y now counts towards the back everywhere: the position and pivot fields, the turn about Y, reference points, the distances to the origin and while moving, the section view and the split plane, and the axis arrows. Designs do not move; only the sign of the Y number (and of the turn about Y) changes. Asked for by @hs-20251111 in #182.
  • A cylinder lying on its side keeps its direction when grouped: A round cylinder, ellipse or cone drops its turn about the vertical axis when it is baked into a mesh - harmless while it stands, but a cylinder tipped on its side points where that turn says. Pins laid round a ring with the circular pattern all faced one way once they were grouped (and in the STL and STEP files). The turn is now kept for a body tipped on its side. Reported by PePa in the forum.
  • Tool panels fit on small screens: The panels for patterns, edges, hollowing and scaling had no height limit, so on a 1080p laptop at 125 % scaling the pattern panel in circle mode ran off the bottom and "Create" could not be reached. They now scroll inside, and their buttons stay in view. Reported by PePa in the forum.
  • Colour and solid/hole for several parts at once: With more than one part selected, the properties panel used to disappear. It now stays, as in Tinkercad, with the number of parts, solid or hole for all of them (a mixed selection says so), one colour for all and the lock. Sizes stay with a single part, the handles and Scale by percent. Asked about by @kwjaarsveld-star in #183.
  • The STEP export says what it left out: A body STEP cannot carry exactly - a twisted one, say, or a mesh imported as STL - is skipped, and the status line only said "1 shape skipped". It now names the bodies and the reason. Reported by @nnikzat in #184.
  • Twisted shapes are exact bodies: A twisted box, cylinder, polygon, star, tube and the other shapes that taper now build as exact CAD geometry - a smooth loft through sections 7.5° apart, within 0.05 % of the true twist. So they go into the STEP file, and chamfers, fillets and hollowing work on them. Prompted by #184.
  • A twist is drawn as a twist: A box or a prism has nothing between its bottom and its top, so a twist only turned its lid, and the sides folded along their diagonals - on screen and in the STL. The mesh is now cut into fine bands and short edges first, so the sides wind round smoothly, and the outline shows only the real edges.
  • Lean and twist on a box, cylinder, ellipse, polygon or sphere use millimetres: These are drawn as unit bodies and stretched; the lean was worked out before the stretch, so 15 mm of lean on a 20 mm box was drawn as 300 mm, and a twist on a long box turned it out of shape. The exact body, STL and STEP were right; now the view is too.
  • The handles go as far as your plate: Dragging a handle stopped at a fixed 220 mm across (180 mm high), a ceiling from the days of the fixed 200 mm plate, while a typed size had no cap - and a body typed larger shrank back the moment it was grabbed. The handles now reach as far as the plate or the printer's build height, never less than before, and never below the body's current size. A custom size limit for a shape still wins. Reported by @PeterSpie in #181.
  • Scale by percent: Select one or many parts, right-click and choose Scale by percent (or find it with Ctrl+K), and type the new size, e.g. 120 %. Several parts grow together around their common centre, so the layout grows with them, or each in place, so the gaps stay; the bottom stays where it is. Also as the MCP action layerling_scale_objects. Asked for by @richthetech in #179.
  • Fast mode and a camera that stops at once: A new Fast mode under Settings → Appearance turns off shadows, edge lines on all bodies and the camera's inertia together, and draws the view at screen resolution only - for slower computers; your own settings are kept for when it goes off. On its own, Camera keeps turning switches off the inertia, so the view stops the moment you let go, as in Tinkercad and Fusion 360. A new section in the guide ("When layerling feels slow") collects what helps. Asked about by @Richard6360 in #188.
  • No crash when Chrome translates the page: Chrome's Translate (and some extensions) swap the page's text for their own elements. When layerling then showed or hid a piece of text, the browser stopped it with "Failed to execute 'insertBefore' on 'Node'" - while adding a fillet, for example. layerling now steps around such a change instead of crashing. Reported by @gpmw in #186.
