  • layerling_export_mesh: STL, 3MF and OBJ over the AI connection: The MCP bridge could import files and make a drawing, but not write a model file. The new action writes what the export window writes, from the same bodies (visible solids, loose holes taken off, overlapping bodies merged for STL or separated by colour for 3MF and OBJ, tiny loose pieces left out). format picks stl, 3mf or obj, ids limits it to some objects, and with path the file is written to that place on the computer; without it the file comes back as base64. The answer lists size, bodies, triangles, merged bodies and the loose pieces left out. Chapter 14 of the guide and the skill list it.
  • The height of a body is no longer held to 220 mm (#425): The field Z (height) (and the pivot's) jumped back to 220 whatever was typed, and the sliders and handles stopped there, also with "No printer - free size". A number can be typed in beyond the slider now, up and down, to 100 m as a guard against a typo, on X, Y and Z alike. The sliders reach a plate and a half across, as far as the printer is high where that is more, and never less than before. Reported through the contact form.
  • Tiny loose pieces are left out of an export (#352): A cut, and the colour separation of a 3MF export, can leave hundreds of tiny loose pieces behind: closed shells of a few triangles, grains of sand a few tenths of a millimetre across that lie in or on the surface of a layer. They cannot be seen in the editor, but a slicer shows them as spikes, and they can lift a flat design off the plate. A design of one logo in six layers carried between 100 and 570 of them per layer. The STL, 3MF and OBJ export now leave out loose pieces that are tiny or thin (under half a cubic millimetre, at most 6 mm across, or a few triangles of no thickness), never the body itself, and the notice says how many were left out. A drawn small cube or pyramid stays. Reported by @Mycraftymama on GitHub.
  • A number on the edge of a turned box changes the side it stands at (#419): With a workplane on a face, and a box turned by a quarter, the number typed into the long edge changed the other side: the box became a square instead of a bit shorter. The numbers on the edges count along the workplane, the fields Length and Width along the box itself, and the two were not matched up. Now the number on an edge changes the side it stands at, and the edge that was held stays where it was. Reported by @gquiring on GitHub.
  • A large circle in an imported SVG is round (#420): Every curve of an SVG was cut into the same small number of pieces, so a large circle came out with about 32 corners that could be seen, and there was no setting for it. The pieces now follow the length of the curve (the longest piece is a two-hundredth of the drawing, at most 400 pieces per curve), so a circle that fills the drawing is round, and a small curve keeps its old number of pieces. A football logo of 212 mm has 11 % more triangles than before. Reported by @stainlessdmc12 on GitHub.
  • Grouping says so when imported parts above the triangle limit are only laid together (#423): Above the limit (200,000 triangles by default, a setting of the workspace) grouping imported solids skips the merge and only lays their meshes together, which an export keeps as overlapping parts; a slicer then reports non-manifold edges. The status line now says that the parts are grouped but not merged, with the triangle count and the limit, as the cut already did, also when a group is closed and through the AI bridge. • A "Restore backup" button next to "Back up all" (#407): A backup made with "Back up all" came back through "Open a design or import geometry", which few people look under. The notice about designs kept in the browser now has Restore backup beside Back up all; it asks for a ZIP file and does the same restore, skipping designs that are already there. It is also there on a new computer with no designs yet, where a backup is restored. Suggested by @danyvanimpe-lab on GitHub.
  • A picture with a transparent edge is traced as its figure, not its details (#345): A black cat sticker on a transparent background came in as a handful of loose pieces (the light whiskers, eyes and buckle) instead of one outline. The import and the icon tag choose the part of the picture that is not its background, and a few black pixels of the figure touching the border made the dark part look like the background. When most of the edge is transparent, the transparency is the background now, and the part with more pixels is traced. Reported by @bryantwalley on GitHub.
  • The thread tile and the sample names showed a line-break code in Danish and Russian (#416): The tile for thread, screw and nut in the shape library, and the sample names in the layered text window, were written with a doubled backslash in the Danish and Russian files, so they showed the code for a line break instead of three lines. They are three lines now, and a test checks every language for it. Reported by @Henrikth12.
  • A 2D drawing of a smooth, curved part (#414): The drawing export refused a part of a few centimetres with the message that its views take more than 100,000 triangles: a smooth, curved surface is cut into very many of them at export quality, whatever the size. The limit is 400,000 now, and the message says how many triangles the views really take. The projection needs about 0.6 s per 250,000 triangles, so the old limit was far too careful.
