SSH Vault

This is not a tutorial to use SSH, nor it is a tutorial to use VS code.

An SSH target is in format of, ssh {username}@{hostname} -p {port}

So to store an SSH target credential, you need to fill in the following information

  • hostname
  • port
  • username
  • password

prepare these information and use "Add" to store it in the vault

Alias and comment are optional. Alias are shown in the vault list as a tag, and comments are tooltip for the list items.

After clicking "Add" in the dialog.

The entity should be listed in the vault.

This vault can store many entities.

Additionally, here are some brief information on other commands

Refresh: loading all entities stored in Windows Credential Manager again.

Copy: Copy the selected SSH target as a ssh command line, e.g. ssh user@hostname -p 22

Details: review the details of a selected SSH target

Edit: edit details of the selected SSH target

Delete: remove the SSH target from the computer
