galleRE 1.1 (macOS)
galleRE 1.1 — macOS 🍎
A big update with new tools for narrowing your photo set, watermarking, faster performance, and a refreshed look.
New
- MLS photo limit — set your MLS's max photo count and see a live counter. Include/exclude any photo with one click, and "Trim to limit" to fit automatically. Click the count pill to change the number on the fly.
- Text watermarks — add a watermark like "This image was virtually staged or edited with AI" to any photo. Configurable text, position, color, size, and opacity. Burned in only on export; originals stay clean.
- Multi-select + bulk actions — click / ⌘-click / ⇧-click to select several photos, then Watermark, Remove WM, Include, or Exclude them all at once. ⌘A selects all.
- Bug reporting — report issues straight to GitHub from the Help menu / About screen.
- Thank-you / donation prompt every few launches (with a "Maybe later").
Improved
- Refreshed UI themed to match the app icon (blue → violet).
- Faster preview — screen-sized decoding, caching, and neighbor prefetch make arrow-key navigation instant.
- PDF support — PDFs (including multi-page) convert to JPG on export.
- One unified Export wizard (resize for MLS or full-res, format conversion, naming, output).
Fixed
- Crash when opening large folders of high-resolution photos — thumbnail decoding is now bounded and memory-safe.
Install
- Download galleRE.dmg below and double-click to open it.
- In the window that opens, drag galleRE onto the Applications folder.
- Open Applications and double-click galleRE. macOS says it can't verify the developer — click Done.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to galleRE. Confirm with Touch ID or your password. You only do this once.
galleRE is open source and ad-hoc signed (not paid Apple notarization). On macOS Sequoia and later, Apple removed the old right-click → Open bypass, so the one-time approval lives in System Settings → Privacy & Security. A
galleRE-macOS.zipis also attached for anyone who prefers it.
Universal build — runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel. Requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
