@hessclark hessclark released this 30 Aug 19:29

galleRE 1.2 — macOS 🍎

Manage listings by client, navigate nested photo folders, switch views, and get notified about updates automatically.

New

  • Clients sidebar — point galleRE at the folder that holds your listing-client folders and browse them in a sidebar. Click a client to load its photos.
  • Archive & restore clients — right-click (or swipe) a client to move its folder into an Archive folder; restore anytime. You can now choose your own archive folder if you already have one.
  • Navigate subfolders — clients whose photos live in a Photos/ or dated subfolder are now fully navigable, with folder cards and a breadcrumb bar.
  • Grid or list view — a toolbar toggle switches the photo area between the thumbnail grid and a compact list. Your choice is remembered.
  • In-app update notifier — galleRE now tells you when a new version is available, with a one-click Download. (That's how you'll hear about the next update.)
  • Clients & archive settings are also in the main Settings panel.

Improved

  • Faster folder navigation — photo metadata now loads off the main thread, so switching clients and drilling into folders is snappy.

Install

  1. Download galleRE.dmg below and open it.
  2. Drag galleRE onto the Applications folder.
  3. Open Applications and double-click galleRE; when macOS says it can't verify the developer, click Done. Then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. (One-time; macOS Sequoia removed the old right-click bypass.)

Universal build — runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel. Requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.

@hessclark hessclark released this 28 Aug 17:42

galleRE 1.1 — macOS 🍎

A big update with new tools for narrowing your photo set, watermarking, faster performance, and a refreshed look.

New

  • MLS photo limit — set your MLS's max photo count and see a live counter. Include/exclude any photo with one click, and "Trim to limit" to fit automatically. Click the count pill to change the number on the fly.
  • Text watermarks — add a watermark like "This image was virtually staged or edited with AI" to any photo. Configurable text, position, color, size, and opacity. Burned in only on export; originals stay clean.
  • Multi-select + bulk actions — click / ⌘-click / ⇧-click to select several photos, then Watermark, Remove WM, Include, or Exclude them all at once. ⌘A selects all.
  • Bug reporting — report issues straight to GitHub from the Help menu / About screen.
  • Thank-you / donation prompt every few launches (with a "Maybe later").

Improved

  • Refreshed UI themed to match the app icon (blue → violet).
  • Faster preview — screen-sized decoding, caching, and neighbor prefetch make arrow-key navigation instant.
  • PDF support — PDFs (including multi-page) convert to JPG on export.
  • One unified Export wizard (resize for MLS or full-res, format conversion, naming, output).

Fixed

  • Crash when opening large folders of high-resolution photos — thumbnail decoding is now bounded and memory-safe.

Install

  1. Download galleRE.dmg below and double-click to open it.
  2. In the window that opens, drag galleRE onto the Applications folder.
  3. Open Applications and double-click galleRE. macOS says it can't verify the developer — click Done.
  4. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to galleRE. Confirm with Touch ID or your password. You only do this once.

galleRE is open source and ad-hoc signed (not paid Apple notarization). On macOS Sequoia and later, Apple removed the old right-click → Open bypass, so the one-time approval lives in System Settings → Privacy & Security. A galleRE-macOS.zip is also attached for anyone who prefers it.

Universal build — runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel. Requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.

@hessclark hessclark released this 28 Aug 15:17

galleRE 1.0 — macOS 🍎

A native Mac app to organize real-estate photos for MLS upload: drag to reorder, rename to lock in the order, preview, and batch resize/convert (JPEG · PNG · HEIC · TIFF · PDF → MLS-ready JPG).

macOS only — does not run on Windows, Linux, iPhone, or iPad.

Download & Install

  1. Download galleRE-macOS.zip below.
  2. Unzip it and drag galleRE.app into your Applications folder.
  3. First launch: right-click (Control-click) the app → OpenOpen again.
    • macOS shows an "unverified developer" warning because the app is open-source and ad-hoc signed (not paid Apple notarization). Right-click → Open tells macOS you trust it — one time only. Alternatively: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Requirements: macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. Universal binary — runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
