Release Notes — Blink 1.0.9

Blink's settings have been rebuilt — a new look you can make your own, and a proper
macOS sidebar. This update is required so auto-updates keep working.

🎉 New Features

  • Appearance themes — Pick from a light theme plus seven darks: Carbon, Ink, Graphite, Midnight, Slate, Warm and Mocha. Choose "System" and Blink follows macOS, using the light theme by day and whichever dark theme you last picked at night.

⚡ Improvements

  • Redesigned settings — A native macOS sidebar that collapses fully out of the way, a wider window, and pages that rearrange to use the extra space.
  • Consistent controls — The tab controls for appearance, break layout, alert position and the stats date range were each styled differently. They now look and behave the same everywhere.

🔧 Bug Fixes

  • Reminders froze after sleep — Timers now resume reliably when your Mac wakes, instead of leaving the break warning and cursor badge stuck on screen.
  • Your first break came at the wrong time — After setup, Blink used its default interval instead of the one you chose, so the first countdown was already part-drained. It now starts from your own settings.
  • Stats counted too many breaks — Blink and posture reminders were being counted as eye breaks, inflating your break count, compliance, wellness score, streak and heatmap. Past days are corrected automatically.
