HamClock Launcher 4.32

This release bundles HamClock 4.32 from the Open HamClock 4.32.0 release. The launcher itself is unchanged, but the bundled HamClock binaries are now built with options that remove features that don't apply on a Mac (see Launcher Changes below).

Highlights from HamClock 4.32

  • New Fire Weather, Marine Weather and Quake panes, each with matching map displays, plus marine weather alerts
  • Fires on the map: a new Fires On/Off button on the Countries, Terrain and Clouds maps
  • ADS-B and Windy views open in an embedded frame, and the maps have new badges
  • Live Spots: 4m, 630m, 2200m and 23cm now sit on their own row for WSPR, and there's a new Map On/Off control
  • On The Air pane: a new Org drop-down, Band and Org lists sorted by frequency, and color-coding for TOWERS and WWBOTA
  • HamQTH support for callsign lookups
  • DX Cluster: improved login and spot parsing for AR-Cluster and CC-Cluster nodes
  • HamAlert pane can now be cleared with a CLR button
  • User Guide icon and QR codes: open the manual from HamClock, and scan a QR code to view SDO and Moon movies and RSS headlines on your phone
  • Setup and passwords: a show/hide eye icon on password fields, special characters typed or pasted in the browser now reach HamClock correctly, and you're told when a paste is too long
  • Message of the Day icon is always shown, with a status popup when there's no message
  • Updated User Guide covering all 4.32 features, bundled as HamClockUserGuide.pdf

Notable Bug Fixes

  • Right-click paste now works in the browser, and clicking Cancel or OK no longer brings up a stray paste prompt
  • The DE and DX clocks no longer draw over open menus
  • Clicks on the ADS-B badge in the browser are now reliably recognized
  • The browser connection counter no longer shows through text dialogs
  • Fixed an overflowing Cancel button and button centering when labels wrap
  • Fixed a bad index in the Quake pane
  • Fixed the On The Air pane refreshing ADIF data before it was ready

Launcher Changes

  • HamClock's built-in updater is turned off (NO_UPGRADE). HamClock no longer checks for or offers to install new versions. Its updater rebuilds HamClock from source, which doesn't work inside the signed Mac app and could stop it from opening. New HamClock versions will continue to arrive as new HamClock Launcher releases.
  • Reboot computer and Shutdown computer are removed from HamClock's shutdown menu (NO_SYSTEM_CONTROLS). These options are meant for dedicated devices such as a Raspberry Pi and don't work on a Mac. Restart HamClock and Exit HamClock are still available.

Upgrading

Download the DMG for your Mac, drag HamClockLauncher to Applications, and replace the existing copy. Your backend server choice and HamClock settings are kept.

HamClock 4.32 also adds an Android and Fire TV version; those changes don't affect the Mac. For the complete list of upstream changes, see the Open HamClock 4.32.0 release notes.
