HamClock Launcher 4.32

This release bundles HamClock 4.32 from the Open HamClock 4.32.0 release. The launcher itself is unchanged, but the bundled HamClock binaries are now built with options that remove features that don't apply on a Mac (see Launcher Changes below).

Highlights from HamClock 4.32

• New Fire Weather, Marine Weather and Quake panes, each with matching map displays, plus marine weather alerts
• Fires on the map: a new Fires On/Off button on the Countries, Terrain and Clouds maps
• ADS-B and Windy views open in an embedded frame, and the maps have new badges
• Live Spots: 4m, 630m, 2200m and 23cm now sit on their own row for WSPR, and there's a new Map On/Off control
• On The Air pane: a new Org drop-down, Band and Org lists sorted by frequency, and color-coding for TOWERS and WWBOTA
• HamQTH support for callsign lookups
• DX Cluster: improved login and spot parsing for AR-Cluster and CC-Cluster nodes
• HamAlert pane can now be cleared with a CLR button
• User Guide icon and QR codes: open the manual from HamClock, and scan a QR code to view SDO and Moon movies and RSS headlines on your phone
• Setup and passwords: a show/hide eye icon on password fields, special characters typed or pasted in the browser now reach HamClock correctly, and you're told when a paste is too long
• Message of the Day icon is always shown, with a status popup when there's no message
• Updated User Guide covering all 4.32 features, bundled as HamClockUserGuide.pdf

Notable Bug Fixes

• Right-click paste now works in the browser, and clicking Cancel or OK no longer brings up a stray paste prompt
• The DE and DX clocks no longer draw over open menus
• Clicks on the ADS-B badge in the browser are now reliably recognized
• The browser connection counter no longer shows through text dialogs
• Fixed an overflowing Cancel button and button centering when labels wrap
• Fixed a bad index in the Quake pane
• Fixed the On The Air pane refreshing ADIF data before it was ready

Launcher Changes

• HamClock's built-in updater is turned off (NO_UPGRADE). HamClock no longer checks for or offers to install new versions. Its updater rebuilds HamClock from source, which doesn't work inside the signed Mac app and could stop it from opening. New HamClock versions will continue to arrive as new HamClock Launcher releases.
• Reboot computer and Shutdown computer are removed from HamClock's shutdown menu (NO_SYSTEM_CONTROLS). These options are meant for dedicated devices such as a Raspberry Pi and don't work on a Mac. Restart HamClock and Exit HamClock are still available.

Upgrading

Download the DMG for your Mac, drag HamClockLauncher to Applications, and replace the existing copy. Your backend server choice and HamClock settings are kept.

This release bundles HamClock 4.31. The launcher itself is unchanged from 4.30 — this update exists to ship the new HamClock client and its updated User Guide.

What's New in HamClock 4.31

• APRS support — APRS stations are tracked and drawn on the map, with periodic purging of stale positions
• HAB and PicoBalloon tracking — follow high-altitude balloon and pico balloon flights alongside your other map data
• HamAlert integration — surface your HamAlert notifications (requires entering your HamAlert username and password in Setup)
• New Band Activity pane — see activity across the bands at a glance
• More X-OTA park highlights in the On The Air pane
• 630m band support, with the Live Spots menu resizing to fit the band list
• Rotating titles — separate titles with a semicolon to rotate through as many as six
• Touchscreen improvements — tooltips now work on touch displays, and OK / Cancel buttons are easier to hit
• Color-coded WARNING and ERROR messages
• Updated User Guide covering all 4.31 features, available from the Help menu

Bug Fixes

• Corrected the X-Ray data source to GOES-18
• Fixed placement of the config pane
• Fixed band spacing introduced with 630m; bands are now laid out in four columns
• APRS colors and menu sizes adjusted; the clock keeps running while a popup is open
• Shortened an over-long label that did not fit the selection pane

Both builds are signed and notarized — no Gatekeeper workarounds needed. Requires macOS 10.14 or later.

Installing

1. Download the DMG for your Mac.
2. Open it and drag HamClock Launcher to your Applications folder.
3. Launch it, pick a display resolution, and click Start.

No separate HamClock installation is required — the binaries are bundled inside the app.

• Reorganized pane picker — panes are grouped into categories and selected from an inline accordion instead of a popup, with shortened labels for long entries, custom ordering within categories, and keyboard navigation (arrow keys and space)
• New Eclipse pane — solar eclipse information, drawn with a real moon glyph and able to open the related website directly
• WEFAX fetching from the Open HamClock Backend
• IOTA support in the On The Air pane, plus better handling when an organization has no spots to report

This release bundles HamClock 4.29, which brings new features and bug fixes from the [Open HamClock 4.29.0 release](https://github.com/openhamclock/hamclock/releases/tag/v4.29.0). The bundled User Guide has been renamed to match upstream; otherwise the launcher is unchanged.

🆕 Highlights from HamClock 4.29

• Political boundaries on the map — country borders, US state lines on zoomed maps, and Canadian province lines are now drawn, making it much easier to place a station at a glance. Borders are on by default
• Customizable border colors — national and state borders can each be set to a color of your choosing
• Borders on Clouds and Terrain maps — boundary overlays can be toggled on or off independently for these map styles
• Snappier satellite tracks — the satellite footprint now refreshes every 5 seconds instead of waiting for the full 30-second map sweep

🐛 Notable Bug Fixes

• Fixed the magnetic bearing in the DX pane, which could display as NaN
• Cleaned up stray pixels in the status line
• Tropical weather no longer bleeds over the edge of the map, and the zoom level display is now consistent
• Storms are now drawn on top of lightning rather than behind it
• Fixed label crowding in the color editor

🆕 Launcher Changes

• The bundled User Guide is now named HamClockUserGuide.pdf, matching upstream (it was previously HamClockKey.pdf). Help → HamClock User Guide works exactly as before

HamClock Launcher 1.3

Bundles HamClock 4.23 and updates backend server selection for the Open HamClock ecosystem.

What's New

• Three-way backend selection replaces the previous ClearSkyInstitute / custom-server toggle:
  • Open HamClock Backend (ohb.hamclock.app:80) — the new default
  • hamclock.com (hamclock.com:80)
  • Custom Open HamClock Backend — enter any host:port
• Automatic migration of server preferences on first launch. Users on the legacy ClearSkyInstitute server are moved to the Open HamClock Backend. Saved custom hosts matching a preset are mapped to the corresponding radio button; all other saved hosts remain under the Custom option with their value preserved.
• Bundled User Guide — HamClockKey.pdf now ships inside the app and opens in your default PDF viewer. No external website dependency.

• HamClock website links and About dialog updated to reflect the Open HamClock project.
