New in 1.1

  • Select a rectangular scan area from a full-bed preview using four draggable corner handles. Adjust corners with the keyboard or VoiceOver actions.
  • Scan the selected position and size at the chosen resolution. Preview images are kept out of the PDF.
  • Check for updates from the SaneScan menu and download, verify and install future releases directly in the app.
  • Update installation waits for active scans and unsaved pages before restarting.

Installation

Download SaneScan-1.1.dmg and drag SaneScan into Applications.

Upgrading from 1.0: install 1.1 manually once. Future releases can be installed through SaneScan → Check for Updates….

Requires macOS 14 or later and the existing Homebrew scan/PDF tools. The app remains ad-hoc signed; the first download may require right-click → Open. Update downloads are additionally signed with Ed25519.
