iVault 1.2.3

@ichamrong ichamrong released this 26 Oct 07:52

Import the site's export straight from Finder, play imported dramas in the Catalog, sync the whole catalog to wuxia-web in one pass, and select Library rows like Finder.

New

  • Imported dramas play in the Catalog. Import from wuxia-web now keeps each series' episodes, so a drama the site already serves shows them marked On site: press Play to watch the site's stream, or Copy its link. An episode you convert yourself still takes that episode's place.
  • Import from wuxia-web opens Finder for the site's export. Pick the wuxia-export-.zip downloaded from the site's Export series page; iVault reads it in memory and adds any series it does not already have, without overwriting one it does.
  • Import shows its progress and stays open with the result: a live bar while the archive is read and saved, then the added series, the ones already in iVault, every file that could not be read, and the catalog's new total. An import that adds nothing says Already up to date.
  • Export all for wuxia-web writes every series' JSON, the shared index.json and the Telegram sidecars in one pass, instead of one visit per series page. Hand-edited fields and episodes from other sources are kept.
  • Add subtitles from the video's own page: the button now sits beside the preview as well as in the Library row menu.
  • Library rows select like Finder and File Explorer: click to select, Shift+Click for a range, Command/Ctrl+Click to add or drop one, double-click or Enter to open, Escape to clear and Command+A for everything.
  • Safer GitHub branch names: a new GitHub storage names branches with a generated {uuid} by default, so two episodes never collide on one branch. A name already in use moves aside to -1, -2 and so on instead of stopping the convert.

Fixed

  • A start that fails now says why and quits with a message instead of crashing. An older iVault meeting a library written by a newer one was the case that mattered.
  • Remove from the Library no longer deletes the Catalog episode or orphans its published stream: the episode stays marked Removed, still plays and still exports.
  • A finished import reports its result in a window that stays open, instead of a toast that vanished before it could be read.

Good to know

  • Import is add-only for series: titles, descriptions, posters and facts you edited in iVault are never overwritten. Episodes are refreshed so a re-import can fix a changed stream URL.
  • Site episodes play from the stream wuxia-web serves. iVault does not convert, store or export them, and they do not join the Library.
  • An existing GitHub storage keeps the branch template it already had; {uuid} is only the default for a template left blank.
  • AI assistant tools (MCP) are available for Claude or any MCP client: translate and correct subtitle tracks, and edit the catalog.

@ichamrong ichamrong released this 18 Oct 08:17

Add subtitle languages any time, a clearer Add subtitles dialog, Rumble, and a fix for converting in the Microsoft Store version.

New

  • Add subtitles asks for the language first. It opens on a language the video does not have yet (Khmer, when it already has English), the button says which one, and after each file it moves on to the next missing language.
  • Post videos to Rumble. Add Rumble in Storage with the upload token Rumble gives you. iVault uploads the original file with its title, description, poster and subtitles, and Rumble converts it. Rumble publishes every upload straight away, so iVault asks first.

Fixed

  • Adding another subtitle language works even after the first language's file was moved or deleted. Before, adding Khmer to a video with English failed with “No such file or directory” once the English .srt was gone from Downloads.
  • Microsoft Store version: converting with an FFmpeg you downloaded yourself no longer fails with “Could not write header … No such file or directory”.

Good to know

  • Rumble cannot delete videos through its API: removing a video from iVault leaves it up on Rumble.
  • Adding subtitles to a Telegram video still gives it a new link: re-export your catalog afterwards.

iVault 1.2.1

@ichamrong ichamrong released this 03 Oct 02:09

iVault opens straight into the app: the lock screen is now optional and off by default.

New

  • Optional app lock with a password of your own: Settings → General → Privacy. When it is on, iVault asks for the password each time it opens and on Ctrl+L. Only a salted hash of the password is kept on your computer.

Fixed

  • iVault no longer opens on a lock screen with a built-in username and password that the app never told you. A fresh install now goes straight to setup.
  • Forgot your lock password? “Forgot password?” on the lock screen turns the lock off, so you are never shut out of your own app.

Good to know

  • The lock hides the window only. It does not encrypt your library, settings or videos.

iVault 1.2.0

@ichamrong ichamrong released this 27 Sep 11:33

Remove a subtitle language, subtitles on Telegram videos, and a GitHub Test that catches read-only tokens.

New

  • Remove a subtitle language from a video that is already online. In Add subtitles…, each language has a Remove button; the stream link stays the same.
  • Add or remove subtitles on Telegram videos. Telegram stores the changed playlist as a new file, so the video gets a new stream link: copy it again and re-export your catalog.
  • A new A to Z guide on this website, from installing iVault to sharing a link.

Fixed

  • GitHub: Test now checks that the token can push, not only read. A read-only token (for example a fine-grained token with Contents: Read-only) used to pass Test and then fail every upload with “Permission denied … 403”. It now fails Test with the reason, and a refused push says how to fix the token.

Good to know

  • Seeing “Permission to … denied” on GitHub? Give the token Contents: Read and write (or the classic repo scope), paste it again under Storage → Edit, press Test, then Resume the video. Its converted files are kept.

iVault 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@ichamrong ichamrong released this 27 Sep 02:27

The version on the Microsoft Store. The app itself is the same as 1.0.0.

New

  • The Microsoft Store version, for Windows 10 and 11 on x64 and Arm64. Installs from the Store update themselves.
  • One-click download on this website: the Download button picks the right installer for your PC.

Good to know

  • If you installed 1.0.0 from the direct installer, you do not need to update: nothing in the app changed.

Download: iVault_1.1.0_x64-setup.exe for most PCs, iVault_1.1.0_arm64-setup.exe for Snapdragon (Arm64) PCs. Check files against SHA256SUMS.txt. Windows SmartScreen will warn on first run (the installer is not code-signed yet): click More info → Run anyway, or get the Microsoft Store version.

iVault 1.0.0

@ichamrong ichamrong released this 27 Sep 01:28

The first public release, and the first on the Microsoft Store.

New

  • Storage you already have: Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2 and MinIO, a local folder or NAS, Telegram, GitHub (served through jsDelivr), Google Drive, OneDrive and WebDAV. Use several, and pick one per video.
  • Move a published video from one storage to another.
  • Batches: group a whole season, run it in order, and see every episode's stage on a live board.
  • Pause and resume a video or a whole batch, and convert several videos at once.
  • Subtitles (.srt, .vtt) in any language and a poster of your own, also added later to a video that is already online.
  • Series catalog in English and Khmer, with TMDB lookup and Gemini translation using your own keys.
  • Telegram with just a bot token and a channel ID, and those videos play in iVault's own preview.
  • Windows builds for x64 and Arm64, on the Microsoft Store and as a direct installer.

Fixed

  • A failed Telegram upload resumes with only the files that are left, instead of sending the whole video again.
  • Converting on Windows works: two Windows-only problems made FFmpeg stop with "Permission denied".

Good to know

  • On Windows, a pause takes effect after the current step (for example, when encoding finishes) rather than instantly.
  • Telegram accepts files up to 20 MB each, so iVault publishes one quality there instead of several.
  • Removing a video from iVault, or moving it to other storage, does not delete the files already uploaded.
  • A Google Drive connection needs renewing every 7 days while your Google OAuth app is in testing mode; OneDrive about every 90 days.

Download: iVault_1.0.0_x64-setup.exe for most PCs, iVault_1.0.0_arm64-setup.exe for Snapdragon (Arm64) PCs. Check files against SHA256SUMS.txt. Windows SmartScreen will warn on first run (the installer is not code-signed yet): click More info → Run anyway, or get the Microsoft Store version.
