  • Provider fallback chain — configure a primary and backup AI provider in Settings. If Gemini is rate-limited, the app silently falls back to DeepSeek or Groq without interrupting your flow.
  • AI playlist art generation — generated playlists now receive a unique, algorithmically-tinted cover image based on the dominant mood keywords in your prompt.
  • Smart Mix improvements — Last.fm-powered Smart Mixes now respect your existing library, avoiding duplicates of tracks already in your local collection.
  • Daily mix auto-refresh — your Daily Mix carousel refreshes automatically at 6 AM local time based on the previous day's listening patterns.

🎤 Lyrics & Language

  • Inline karaoke mode — lyrics now display in a karaoke-style bouncing-ball highlight that smoothly animates between synced words rather than scrolling line-by-line.
  • Auto-translation memory — if you translate a foreign track's lyrics to English (or any target language), Pixel Music remembers your preference and auto-translates future tracks by the same artist.
  • Romaji/romanization toggle — one-tap switch between original, romanized, and translated lyrics for CJK tracks without leaving the player sheet.
  • LRCLIB search fallback — if the automatic lyrics fetch misses, the player sheet now shows a manual search button that queries LRCLIB directly with editable title/artist fields.

🌐 Streaming & Cloud

  • YouTube Music stream quality selector — manually choose between Low (64 kbps AAC), Normal (128 kbps AAC), High (256 kbps AAC), or Auto (adaptive based on bandwidth) in Settings.
  • Telegram background sync — channel audio is now indexed in the background via WorkManager. New uploads appear in your library within minutes without requiring a manual refresh.
  • Google Drive offline pinning — pin specific cloud folders or albums for local download, creating a hybrid offline/cloud library. Managed via a new "Cloud Cache" section in Settings.
  • Stream proxy resilience — the local HTTP stream proxy now recovers from mid-stream network drops without restarting the track, using a seamless retry buffer.

  • Year-in-review preview — a new card in the stats screen shows a running summary of your current year's top artists, genres, and total hours, updating weekly.
  • Shareable stats cards — tap the share button on any stats card to generate a glassmorphism-style image of your listening stats for social media.

Not sure which one to pick?

  1. Go to Settings → About Phone.
  2. Look for Processor or CPU.
  3. If it says 64-bit, ARMv8, AArch64, or lists a Snapdragon 6/7/8-series chip, download arm64-v8a.
  4. When in doubt, arm64-v8a is the safest choice.

🛠️ Installation

Fresh Install

  1. Download the correct APK for your device architecture from the table above.
  2. Open the file on your Android device (via browser downloads, Telegram, or file manager).
  3. Tap Install.
  4. If you see a security prompt, tap Settings and allow installation from this source.
  5. Launch Pixel Music from your app drawer.

Upgrade from v1.0.06

This is a direct upgrade — you do not need to uninstall first. Android will update the app in-place and preserve all data.

  1. Download the same architecture APK you installed previously (e.g., if you had arm64-v8a, download arm64-v8a again).
  2. Open the APK and tap Update.
  3. Your playlists, favorites, history, AI playlists, settings, and API keys will all carry over automatically.

Note: If you somehow switch architectures (e.g., arm64-v8a → armeabi-v7a), Android will block the install. You must uninstall the old version first, which will erase data. Always match the architecture.

First-time sideloaders: Android may show a "Play Protect" warning for apps outside the Play Store. Tap More details → Install anyway to proceed. Pixel Music does not contain malware; this warning is standard for all non-Play-Store APKs.

⚠️ Known Issues

  • Snapchat story sharing requires the Snapchat app to be installed and logged in. On very low-end devices (2 GB RAM), blurred background effects may fallback to a solid color.
  • AI playlist generation requires an active internet connection and a valid provider API key. Free-tier API keys may encounter rate limits during peak hours; the app will retry automatically via the fallback chain if configured.
  • Android Auto voice search for Telegram channels is not yet supported; use on-screen browse instead.
  • Google Drive folder load time for 10,000+ files may exceed 5 seconds on slow connections; caching improves subsequent visits.
  • Per-song EQ overrides are saved locally and do not sync to Wear OS or Android Auto; they apply only on the phone speaker / Bluetooth output.
