🛠️ Installation

Fresh Install

  1. Download the correct APK for your device architecture from the table above.
  2. Open the file on your Android device (via browser downloads, Telegram, or file manager).
  3. Tap Install.
  4. If you see a security prompt, tap Settings and allow installation from this source.
  5. Launch Pixel Music from your app drawer.

Upgrade from v1.1.06

This is a direct upgrade — you do not need to uninstall first. Android will update the app in-place and preserve all data.

  1. Download the same architecture APK you installed previously (e.g., if you had arm64-v8a, download arm64-v8a again).
  2. Open the APK and tap Update.
  3. Your playlists, favorites, history, AI playlists, settings, API keys, cross-device sync pairings, and cached lyrics will all carry over automatically.

Note: If you switch architectures (e.g., arm64-v8a → armeabi-v7a), Android will block the install. You must uninstall first, which erases data. Always match the architecture.

First-time sideloaders: Android may show a "Play Protect" warning for apps outside the Play Store. Tap More details → Install anyway to proceed. Pixel Music does not contain malware; this warning is standard for all non-Play-Store APKs.

⚠️ Known Issues

  • Cross-device sync is in Beta. Sync latency may reach 30–60 seconds when devices are on different networks without LAN visibility. LAN-direct sync is near-instantaneous.
  • Collaborative playlists require all participants to be on v1.2.06 or later. Users on older versions will see the playlist as read-only.
  • Spotify import requires an active Spotify account with API access. Rate limits may apply to very large libraries (10,000+ liked songs); the app will pause and resume automatically.
  • AI DJ intro uses on-device TTS and is available only in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Korean at this time. Other languages will fall back to silent intros.
  • Auto-Karaoke mode is experimental and works best on cleanly mixed stereo tracks. It may produce artifacts on live recordings or heavily compressed mono tracks.
  • Nextcloud / WebDAV streaming requires the server to support HTTP range requests (byte-range). Servers without this support will be unable to seek within tracks.
  • Waveform seekbar is generated on first play for each local track and is not yet available for streamed tracks (YT Music, Telegram, Drive). Generation is skipped on devices with <3 GB RAM to conserve resources.
  • Multi-room Chromecast sync may drift by up to 100 ms on congested Wi-Fi networks. Adjust per-room latency in Settings → Cast → Advanced if needed.
