OfficeAgent.NET 0.7.0

Review Word documents with complete native tracked-change coverage and run the MCP server without configured storage.

Highlights

  • Track text, paragraph, table, image, formatting, page, break, and note operations in Word.
  • Inspect and manage comment threads, footnotes, endnotes, page geometry, and every supported revision marker.
  • Keep documents in an in-memory session or process one-call inline content without configuring filesystem storage.
  • Configure connections through a JSON file, OFFICEAGENT_CONFIG, environment variables, or command-line settings.

Reliability and compatibility

  • Atomic filesystem writes retry temporary Windows file locks and report durable provider errors.
  • Invalid document packages return a clear format error, and regular-expression searches have a two-second execution bound.
  • Word removal operations default to tracked markup. Pass "mode": "Direct" when immediate deletion is required.
  • A server with no configured connections starts with an in-memory session connection and document creation enabled.
  • Registration tools appear only when a filesystem or SharePoint connection provides a source-addressing boundary.
