Highlights

  • Create, inspect, and edit Word documents, PowerPoint decks, and Excel workbooks through typed .NET, Agent Framework, and MCP workflows.
  • Preflight template batches, bind text, images, and native charts, compare Word documents, and assemble reviewable document packets.
  • Use capability discovery, bounded rendering, filesystem or SharePoint storage, and hosted connection isolation for agent integrations.
  • Start with the standalone package-backed QuickEdit sample or the generated C# API reference.

Reliability and compatibility

  • v0.9.0 enforces edit-plan contract 0.2. Omit contractVersion for legacy behavior or send exactly "0.2"; unknown fields, operations, and enum values are rejected.
  • OOXML ingestion applies host-owned resource ceilings. Documents that exceed a ceiling are refused instead of being processed.
  • Word edits that cross another author's pending revision are refused with revision-overlap to preserve correct accept and reject behavior.
  • Release artifacts include checksums, CycloneDX SBOMs, signed attestations, and a package-backed sample. Pin all OfficeAgent packages to the same version.
