Unzip and drag Paint.app into /Applications.
Signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarised by Apple, so it opens with
a double-click — no right-click dance, no quarantine flag to clear.
Added
- Paint ▸ Check for Updates… — asks GitHub whether a newer release exists and
offers to open the download page. It never downloads or installs anything, so
nothing runs on your Mac that you didn't fetch and unzip yourself. A quiet
check also runs on launch, at most once a day, and can be switched off with
Paint ▸ Check Automatically. ⌘-scroll zooms around the pointer, so the pixel under the cursor stays
put. Trackpad deltas are accumulated, so a flick steps one level at a time.
