AstraBridge v0.5.1
Changes
- Added Google Gemini API support to AstraBridge Runner, including Gemini 3.8 Flash with low, medium or high reasoning effort.
- Gemini uses native tools, game screenshots, persistent conversation history, checkpoint compaction and session resume. Thought signatures and complete tool results are preserved.
- Adapted conditional tool schemas for Google's API validation while retaining AstraBridge's original argument checks.
- Added compact, reconstructable logging for Gemini images and protected API-key handling.
Includes AstraBridge Runner 0.1.3. Set GEMINI_API_KEY and select --provider gemini; see the runner documentation for setup and examples.
AstraBridge v0.5.0
Changes
- Smoother automatic movement and obstacle avoidance, with fewer stop-and-turn pauses. Ground navigation keeps its collision and floor-support checks, and can use known travelled routes when the normal path crosses an obstacle.
- Smaller gameplay responses: unchanged equipment, effects and settings are no longer repeated on every step. Action results use a single outcome summary while preserving actual movement, interruptions and obstacle diagnostics. Full results remain available on request.
- More concise UI, character, recording and Atlas responses.
- Updated gameplay skill with corrected command descriptions and less implementation detail. Fixed native-tool skill exports losing comment text or checkpoint arguments and confusing field names with tool names.
Updating
Re-export the gameplay skill after updating. Custom integrations should read result.summary for the effective action outcome; the default compact response no longer repeats it in feedback. Use --full, details or action-result when additional information is needed.
AstraBridge v0.4.5
Changes
- Fixed mouse movement not reaching the game during manual control, including with Pointer Lock enabled.
- Fixed keyboard focus after taking manual control and released held keys and mouse buttons when focus moves away from the game view.
- Fixed input becoming unresponsive after loading a save through the in-game menu.
AstraBridge v0.4.4
Changes
- Fixed excessive camera sensitivity during manual control by using relative mouse movement in gameplay and absolute cursor positions in menus.
- Made Release respond independently of queued mouse movements, with confirmation that manual control has ended.
- Improved mouse handling when switching between gameplay and menus, including automatic pointer unlock for the interface.
- Fixed Atlas appearing empty while an agent action is running: the viewer now shows a loading state and retries automatically.
AstraBridge v0.4.3
Changes
- Import OpenMW
.omwsavefiles into a playthrough profile from Profiles → Import save… orastrabridge import-save. Imports validate the file, preserve existing saves, and leave the profile's Atlas and notes unchanged. - Fixed viewer cancellation when the game stops during a pending connection, preventing the interface from becoming stuck.
- Fixed a race in runtime command timeout cleanup so it waits for child processes to exit after forced termination.
AstraBridge v0.4.2
AstraBridge 0.4.2
- Add Grok 4.7 support to AstraBridge Runner through the xAI Responses API and
XAI_API_KEY, alongside ChatGPT and DeepSeek. - Support native game tools, automatic screenshots, streaming responses,
encrypted reasoning, checkpoint compaction and session resume with Grok. - Adapt exported tool schemas to xAI requirements while preserving the original
argument validation. Include separate reasoning usage in context accounting
and preserve the session's prompt cache key across resume. - Package AstraBridge Runner 0.1.2 and update its setup documentation.
AstraBridge v0.4.1
AstraBridge 0.4.1
- Keep engine and lifecycle diagnostic logs bounded, and continue draining engine
output if a log cannot be written. Late command replies no longer accumulate. - Keep the daemon responsive during text input and report input failures without
disconnecting the viewer. Session history tolerates interrupted log entries. - Recover abandoned installation locks, terminate timed-out runtime downloads
and their child processes, preserve UTF-8 output, and validate Windows game paths. - Compact old action-result payloads while preserving protection against repeated
commands. Runner API logs share archived screenshots; an explicit cleanup
command can remove old inactive runner sessions. API retries respect Retry-After. - Pin GitHub Actions to commit SHA values and add Python correctness checks to CI.
AstraBridge v0.4.0
AstraBridge 0.4.0
- Improved navigation with the player's actual collision body, floor support and normal step limits. Short physical routes can now follow curved bridges, stairs and corridors where the native navigation mesh is incomplete.
- Added checked obstacle detours and better steering around short waypoints, including on recorded routes.
- Fixed long Atlas journeys repeatedly returning toward their departure between route segments. Connected travelled routes no longer have an arbitrary total distance limit.
- Visible objects and walking points use OpenMW's configured view distance instead of separate short selection limits.
- Fixed direct movement incorrectly reporting stalled progress while climbing or descending.
- Removed the CLI transport's independent five-minute timeout for long game actions. Action budgets, cancellation and runtime watchdogs remain in effect.
AstraBridge v0.3.7
AstraBridge 0.3.7
- Fixed a recording-statistics performance problem that could cause frame drops and stuttering in long recordings and the live viewer. Status requests no longer sort an ever-growing list of frame intervals in the shared capture process.
- Frame timing now uses a bounded lifetime histogram with cached median/p95 estimates. The observed maximum and lifetime frame counters are preserved.
AstraBridge v0.3.6
AstraBridge 0.3.6
- Added the shared
astrabridge-runnerfor OpenAI GPT models through Sign in with ChatGPT and the Responses API, and for DeepSeek through its API. - Added model and reasoning selection, a configurable recent screenshot window, structured checkpoint compaction, and session resume. Complete requests, responses, tool results, screenshots, usage, and checkpoints remain in the session logs.
- Game tools and argument schemas come from AstraBridge's existing catalog. The runner executes tools sequentially, preserves full diagnostics, and provides no shell or Python scripting tools to the model.
- Updated model results with the Sol and Luna custom-harness comparisons, a current-status table, and recommended harnesses.
The installable astrabridge_runner Python wheel replaces the experimental DeepSeek-only runner. Start a new runner session; the experimental runner's session format is not migrated.
