Download Backstop-v1.6.0-setup.exe for automatic setup. It bundles the .NET runtime, installs for the current user, creates a Start menu shortcut and registers an uninstaller. A desktop shortcut is optional.

  • Silent deployment is supported.
  • Reinstallation preserves existing user data.
  • Uninstall removes installed application files and preserves unrecognized user files and legacy settings.
  • The portable Windows ZIP remains available.

Verification: application regression and packaged UI checks passed. The exact setup installer passed first install, reinstall, installed app launch, uninstall and user-file preservation tests on a hosted Windows runner.

Also adds verified snapshot comparison, content change classification, byte deltas and headless JSON restore-impact reports. The graphical comparison interface is still in development.
