Savepoint 1.5.1
Savepoint 1.5.1
Savepoint now searches the real Steam userdata layout when finding game saves, including Steam accounts on the primary installation when a game is installed in a secondary library. Each account remains a separate candidate. The app prefers a game's existing remote folder and rejects linked candidates instead of suggesting a broader userdata folder.
No snapshot or profile format migration is required. Existing backups and profiles remain in place. Verify the selected candidate before creating a profile; some games save outside Steam's cloud folders.

Savepoint-v1.5.1-setup.exe: setup for your Windows account, with the .NET runtime bundled.Savepoint-v1.5.1-win-x64.zip: portable application and documentation.SHA256SUMS: SHA-256 values for both packages and the validation report.RELEASE-VALIDATION.json: source commit and completed build, regression, packaged headless, installer, reinstall, launch, uninstall and user-file preservation checks.
The release workflow verifies the version tag and executable version, builds the packages from that exact commit, and checks all published package hashes before publication. Windows x64 builds are unsigned. These checks do not certify every game's save location or every Steam configuration.
Savepoint v1.5.0: Snapshot reports and restore preflight
Savepoint 1.5 adds verified save-history reports and stronger restore preflight.
- Compare snapshots to identify added, removed, modified and unchanged save files and the byte difference.
- Preview a restore without touching the destination, including identical files, conflicts and blocked paths.
- Run both reports headlessly from the portable or installed executable. Existing report files are preserved.
- Reject linked ancestors, directory collisions and parent-file blockers before copying restores.
- Prevent root manifest.json source files from replacing snapshot metadata.
Five local regression suites and Release build passed. Application and installer CI passed on the release commit. Packaged report checks cover comparisons, preview-only behavior and overwrite protection. The downloaded portable executable runs those same headless checks before publication.
No snapshot or settings migration is required. Report files contain local paths and filenames. Refresh a preview if files change before restoring. Setup bundles the runtime and installs for the current account; the portable ZIP remains available.
Savepoint v1.4.1: Display text corrections
Repairs damaged text encoding in interface labels, status messages and documentation. Arrows, symbols and punctuation now use valid UTF-8 text. Setup instructions reference this release.
Download Savepoint-v1.4.1-setup.exe for automatic Windows setup with the bundled .NET runtime, or use the portable ZIP.
Verification: application regression and packaged UI checks passed. The setup installer passed first install, reinstall, installed application launch, uninstall and user-file preservation checks on a hosted Windows runner.

Savepoint v1.4.0: Automatic Windows setup
Download Savepoint-v1.4.0-setup.exe for automatic setup. It bundles the .NET runtime, installs for the current user, creates a Start menu shortcut and registers an uninstaller. A desktop shortcut is optional.
- Silent deployment is supported.
- Reinstallation preserves existing user data.
- Uninstall removes installed application files and preserves unrecognized user files and legacy settings.
- The portable Windows ZIP remains available.
Verification: application regression and packaged UI checks passed. The exact setup installer passed first install, reinstall, installed app launch, uninstall and user-file preservation tests on a hosted Windows runner.

Savepoint v1.3.1: Application rename
Savepoint is the new name for OpenGameSave.
Updated executable, application branding, project documentation and installer names where provided. Existing saved settings remain compatible.
Extract the Windows ZIP and run Savepoint.exe. Keep included files together. No separate .NET installation is required.
Verification: hosted regression tests, release build and packaged application checks passed. This release packages the exact executable from that successful Windows CI run.
