v2.2.0
Highlights
Finer control over which MCP tools agents see, a token-efficient search exposure mode (now the capa init default), and correct rule placement for providers that share AGENTS.md.
Tool exposure
- Per-server exposure. A server's
expose:can beall(default),except, exactlyornone. Addingtools:entries for a server switches it to a curated list. searchmode.options.toolExposure: searchlists onlysearchandcall_toolup front, so agents find tools on demand instead of loading every schema. New projects fromcapa inituse it by default.- Web UI. Server cards show how many tools are exposed and mark each as exposed or hidden. Adding the first tool for a server asks for confirmation, since that curates the server. Skill
requiresis hidden insearchmode, where it has no effect. Token-savings estimates count only what agents actually receive. - capa's MCP entry is now registered for projects whose tools come only from servers.
Rules for providers sharing AGENTS.md
- Rules restricted to certain providers no longer leak to other readers of
AGENTS.md. Gemini CLI moves toGEMINI.mdwhen it sharesAGENTS.md, and.gemini/settings.json→context.fileNameis set for you. capa records that ownership incapabilities.lock, socapa cleanremoves only what it added. appliesTo: ["dir/**"]rules become nested instruction files for providers that read them.- Rules whose visibility or scope can't be represented are reported before anything is written. You can opt in per rule with
visibility: best-effort/scope: best-effort. - Deprecation:
options.rules.conflictsdefaults towarnin this release and will default toerrorin the next major.
Fixes
- Antigravity skills now install to
.agents/skills(#241). Copies earlier releases wrote to.agent/skillsaren't removed automatically, so delete them to avoid duplicates. - Windows:
capa cleanpath handling, andcapa wrapargument quoting for.cmdshims. - Concurrent installs: SQLite busy timeout, cross-process locks for plugin copies.
- Sub-agents honor provider targeting. Sub-agent refs to server-exposed tools no longer warn.
- MCP servers that need an API key show as pending credentials instead of failing install. Silent MCP connect failures and null capability fields are fixed.
