@iqui27 iqui27 released this 12 Oct 21:17

Nuvio Legacy 2.0.5

The update after 2.0.4: a new opening, a full subtitle list and a long list of fixes. Community server: https://discord.gg/9NWr6SHyzJ

Added

  • Cinema opening. The cinema-style opening screen is now the default. The detailed card stays in Settings.
  • Marked as watched only after real playback. A trailer no longer marks the title as watched.
  • Skip intro. New options to skip the intro, the recap and the credits on their own.
  • Full subtitle list. Subtitles grouped by language, with the automatic sync row.
  • Second subtitle. Holding OK opens more options and turns the second subtitle off. Size up to 300%.
  • Logos and details. Title logos and information appear without waiting for the full detail.
  • Profiles. Continue Watching under each avatar, and quick profile switching.
  • Add-ons. A button to sync the account's add-ons. The TV only receives, it never sends.
  • App icon. New app icon, with the LEGACY tag.
  • Image memory. Settings show the image memory limit of your TV.
  • Samsung .tpk. The native player no longer freezes the interface, and the aspect button changes the picture.
  • LG webOS. Its own Homebrew Channel repository, to install and update.
  • Source details (#355): the info button on a source opens a card with the add-on, the label, the full description and the file name. The link itself is never shown.
  • Title page, cleaner. The synopsis stops at 3 lines, the details sit on one line (genres, year, runtime and rating, with year and runtime in bold), and the "next episode" badge lines up with the text.
  • Resume button. Shows how much you have watched as a small bar and the time left (like "1h 51min"), instead of a separate "resume available" line.
  • New font. JetBrains Sans, the font of Nuvio Desktop, is now an option in Settings > Interface font.
  • Library (#352): a watched badge on the poster and on the row, and sorting by watched / unwatched.

Fixed

  • Automatic subtitle sync swaps the subtitle at most once per episode, and goes back to your original when the candidate has under half of its lines.
  • LG: automatic subtitle sync now runs. Reading the reference used to give up because of the TV's short buffer (it stopped after 45 seconds every time).
  • The manual sync button shows what it is doing on the clock island, with or without automatic sync; a refused press is announced.
  • Subtitle blocks with invalid times are ignored instead of marking the whole subtitle as incomplete, and an unfinished download no longer changes the subtitle on screen.
  • Automatic subtitle sync follows the redirect of a link and sends the add-on's own headers, so it can read the reference for more sources.
  • Subtitle matching now compares against the file actually playing, fetching a subtitle no longer holds the video for up to 4 seconds, and the first line no longer shows a wrong "failed" message.
  • A subtitle you picked by hand survives into the next episode (#383); forced subtitles and unknown types keep their behaviour, and picking the active subtitle from outside the recommendations no longer lands on "Off".
  • Embedded text subtitles are drawn by the app on LG and Samsung (#421); on LG their size matches the preview.
  • The Serbo-Croatian code matches Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian (#429), and the exact language wins when a language is picked automatically.
  • Subtitle sizes are the same everywhere and go up to 300% (#439, #440), and Arabic bold matches the regular size.
  • Marked as watched requires real playback (#205): a trailer, a paused full-screen video or closing the player early no longer counts, your real resume point is kept, and cancelling "Next" keeps your place even after rewinding.
  • A resumed episode only counts the part actually played, including the post-credits tail (#205, #100); choosing to resume clears a title that was stuck as paused.
  • Post-credits: the next-episode card waits for the scene, you can go to the next episode by hand while it plays, and the watched mark reaches every row and survives a refresh.
  • When the player refuses a source, playback falls back to the next one instead of failing (#364); the "Try next source" button responds to touch again, and switching source no longer erases a message on screen.
  • The source automatic playback used is remembered when you open the next episode by hand (#310).
  • A source is only marked unavailable after it really failed; those marks are cleared when the title plays, failed opens are remembered for 6 hours so failover follows the list order, and a source that fails when you pick it by hand is not offered again right away.
  • Torrents the debrid has not cached are marked and sorted last (#402).
  • Starting a video by hand no longer waits forever when it fails, and the automatic jump to the next source respects your "another source if it fails" setting (off means only the warning shows).
  • A cached runtime no longer gets applied to a later episode that happens to have the same number of episodes, and the player warns when a source's length does not match the title.
  • Rewinding no longer gets stuck after the video ends or while credits are being skipped.
  • The on-screen controls stay up while you are still using them.
  • Android Dolby Vision: aspect-ratio modes work again, a slow 4K / Dolby Vision source is no longer dropped right after the first frame, and resizing the window no longer restarts the picture.
  • The interface no longer flashes white while an HDR or Dolby Vision video plays (#205).
  • Samsung aspect ratio: the picture stays where it belongs on Tizen 4 (#426, #341), an off-screen crop is refused instead of pushing the image away, and a refused or queued change gives the sound back and stays in its own video.
  • Samsung Live TV: channels that need the add-on's own headers now play, a channel reopens at once when its stream ends (#302), and reconnect loops are bounded.
  • Letterboxing is kept for plain full-screen requests.
  • Continue Watching keeps its saved slot while catalogs load (#392); "Trakt only" without a Trakt link falls back to all sources; and the newest progress wins when copies disagree.
  • A new add-on catalog that no longer fits on Home goes to the queue instead of being switched off (#358), and a row switch now takes effect instead of flipping back.
  • Home no longer shows a catalog that no add-on provides when the row list is full; your explicit choice is kept (#204).
  • Row add/hide no longer fights the account's list: adding wins over the account's hidden rows, and hiding no longer gets stuck.
  • Account sync keeps your local order until you reorder on the TV, imports custom titles, and respects the account's add-on order (#204).
  • Metadata loads again when the main TMDB address is blocked or times out (#416, #419), and posters with very long addresses load again (#433).
  • The next-episode countdown only starts when the credits start is a real marker (never the 2-minute estimate), 4 seconds after the card shows (#331).
  • Auto-skip of credits only fires with a real start and end marker (#329, #331) and rewinding never skips them again; intro markers also cover anime opened from IMDb/TMDB, in any season (#430).
  • Depth now controls the sheen you actually see on the focused card, with a single intensity slider instead of the old per-card switches.
  • Settings: the image memory choice is recorded only after your settings really save, explicit choices survive the move from the old highcache package, and clicking a limit the TV does not support does nothing.
  • The TV guide keeps its normal layout on TVs; the one-column layout now only applies to mobile.
  • The comments picker stays on the episode you confirmed and reopens on its season after you browse others.
  • Holding OK only fires when you really hold it, not on the frame after a long pause (#387).
  • Touch controls no longer react on TVs: mobile buttons, touch scrolling and editing stay inert in TV mode.
  • Renewing your session no longer drops consent or mixes up the active account and profile.
  • The title page shows one trailer card again (#417), and the screensaver waits while a trailer plays (#422).
  • The speed test now measures sources that stream as raw data (#203).
  • The P2P space limit has a hard, choosable cap with a clear message (#334), and videos larger than the cap keep playing instead of stopping in the middle.
  • Player controls, live TV, format badges and the next-episode card line up with the clock island; island panels show the title, and badges no longer animate on every key press.

Known issues

  • On some Android TVs a Dolby Vision episode can occasionally start dark until the aspect ratio is changed. Still under investigation; a log code sent right after it happens helps.
  • Samsung: automatic subtitle sync is not available yet; manual delay works.

Notes

Samsung .tpk: this version changes the .tpk's host code again (interface freeze #412, aspect ratio #426), so the .tpk has to be reinstalled; the in-app update alone does not deliver these fixes.

2.0.5 is the last release that ships the highcache package: the image memory limit is a Settings option now, and a highcache install takes the normal package on the next update.

Nuvio Legacy 2.0.4

Choose a tag to compare

@iqui27 iqui27 released this 10 Oct 05:55

Nuvio Legacy 2.0.4

A hotfix on top of 2.0.3, plus a few small additions. Community server: https://discord.gg/9NWr6SHyzJ

Added

  • Discord server. The "What's new" card and Support the project show a QR code to join: https://discord.gg/9NWr6SHyzJ
  • Source order (#400): Settings › Playback › More options lets you keep the sources by quality or exactly as the add-on sent them (for AIOStreams and similar, which already sort).
  • Automatic subtitle sync can be turned off (Settings › Subtitles, next to "Sync by audio"). It stays on by default.
  • "Unmark from here on" in the episode menu, next to "Unmark up to here". Both range actions now cover the whole show, not only the season on screen.
  • Next episode opens faster: its sources are fetched 10 seconds before the up-next card appears.
  • LG: Dolby Vision profile 5 in MP4 plays as Dolby Vision.
  • "Use the primary profile's add-ons" is now off by default for new profiles; profiles that already had it keep their choice.

Fixed

  • "The source didn't answer in time" on sources that work (#409). Auto-play now skips 4K sources the TV's decoder cannot play and waits for the previous player to be released before opening the next one.
  • Android TV and Samsung .tpk: slow 4K sources are no longer dropped while they are opening. A source that had already answered (tracks known) but had not shown its first frame within 15 seconds was treated as dead, so auto-play jumped to the next one and could take 40 seconds to start. Such a source now gets the full 30 seconds; a source that sends nothing is still skipped at 15.
  • Samsung .tpk: the interface no longer stalls while a video opens or closes (#412). This changes the app host, so the .tpk has to be reinstalled; the in-app update alone does not deliver this fix.
  • Samsung Tizen 4 / 5: no more "Not Available" toast on Play/Pause and other media keys (#411).
  • Glass outline, Depth, edge glow and Sheen respond to their settings again (#410). The automatic graphics level now starts from full effects and only steps down when the TV measurably cannot keep up.
  • Library showed "129 saved" but only a few titles when "Hide unreleased" was on: titles without a year were treated as unreleased. Only titles with a known future date are hidden now.
  • Spotlight: your own titles (Continue Watching, saved, in progress) come first among equal matches, the last row is never drawn clipped, OK opens the title you see even if the list refreshed, and artwork no longer mixes a movie with a series of the same name.
  • Series pages are smooth again when opened from Continue Watching or Spotlight: the progress chart was being rebuilt many times per frame.
  • Automatic subtitle sync no longer swaps the subtitle you chose when the video's own reference track is too short to compare (a forced track with a few lines), and no longer says "Couldn't download the subtitle" for a subtitle that downloaded and is on screen.
  • Subtitles-only add-ons (OpenSubtitles and similar) no longer appear as "did not respond" in the source list.
  • TV guide: search no longer crashes when you press "done" on the keyboard and a channel has more than 24 programmes in the next 6 hours (#344). Searching now also looks past the first 24 programmes of such a channel.
  • Season tabs match the episode list (#372, #328). When a metadata add-on supplied a longer episode list than the Nuvio catalog (anime such as The Apothecary Diaries), its episodes were loaded but the page kept one season tab, so only season 1 was visible. The tabs now come from the list that is actually shown, and reopening the title while its cast and artwork are still loading no longer brings the old tabs back.
  • 2017 LG TVs (webOS 3): the app no longer closes when opening a video for the second time in a session (the DTS fallback check loaded and unloaded LG's media player library on every video; it now loads once and stays).
  • Series no longer show the same episode on every card. When a stream add-on answered the episode request with its list of torrent files (thousands of entries repeating the same few episodes), that list replaced the real one: every card read "Episode 1" with "1200 of 1200 watched" (2.0.2), or the series was left with only a handful of episodes (2.0.3). Add-on lists are now compared by distinct episodes, and a file list is only used when it really knows more episodes than the catalog (the catalog's episode names are kept where both have them). This also covers series opened from that add-on's own catalog.
  • 2017 LG TVs (webOS 3.9) are no longer treated as webOS 4: the version now comes from the TV's own webos_release (the same one the log's [tv] line shows), so Dolby Vision in MKV, which needs webOS 4, stays off on them.
  • Switching profile and coming back no longer rearranges the Home rows (collections, catalogs, Continue Watching): the other profile's addon catalogs are no longer registered into the profile you return to (#392).
  • Sources labelled only "FHD" or "Full HD" (no "1080" in the name, as some AIOStreams formats write it) are now grouped under 1080p instead of "Other" (#402).
  • Custom poster URL template is saved again (#390). Long templates (up to 400 characters) and API keys with uppercase letters are kept as typed; before, anything past 299 characters was cut and the key was lowercased, so the template was rejected without saving. A template whose finished address could not fit is refused when you save it, with a message.
  • Subtitle and audio languages set to "From account" now apply even when this TV has protected local settings, and switching profile no longer carries the previous profile's languages over (#378).
  • Android boxes with Amlogic chips (Mecool KM7 SE and similar): HDR videos no longer recreate the video surface at the start. On low-memory boxes that recreation could crash the app or freeze the box when a 4K HDR episode started.
  • 2017 LG TVs: a read error on the secondary version file no longer throws away the webOS version already read from the main one.
  • Custom poster URL template that is too long once filled in now says so, instead of the generic "invalid template" message.

Known issues

  • On some Android TVs a Dolby Vision episode can occasionally start dark until the aspect ratio is changed. Still under investigation; a log code sent right after it happens helps.

Notes

Samsung .tpk: install this version by hand (see the #412 item above).

Nuvio Legacy 2.0.3

Choose a tag to compare

@iqui27 iqui27 released this 09 Oct 15:20

Nuvio Legacy 2.0.3

A release focused on fixes and optimization: Dolby Vision in MKV on LG TVs (off by default), Settings redesigned, the Magic Remote pointer on almost every screen, a new episode menu and a long list of fixes.

Added

  • Settings redesigned. Categories by task (Watch, Screens, Account and system), plain-language labels, a written On/Off state on every switch, and the technical options behind "More options" in each category.
  • A preview scene for each option, so you see what it changes before you change it.
  • Settings layout: Panel or List (#339).
  • Search options (#311): Nuvio catalog results first, last or off; hide the "from " caption. The Cinemeta switch only shows when it can do something.
  • Next episode in Continue can be turned off, and a single up-next card can be removed (it stays hidden for that profile and on Trakt).
  • "View details" in the Continue Watching hold menu, when OK on the card plays (#350).
  • New episode menu. Holding OK on an episode opens the same menu as posters, beside the card. Holding OK on a season tab opens a season panel.
  • Episode ratings show the Trakt or TMDB logo next to the score. The episode synopsis is smaller.
  • TV guide: choose which channel add-ons show up, per profile (#283). When a provider has more channels than fit, the guide says "Showing N of M channels" instead of dropping categories.
  • P2P space limit in the P2P settings (#334). Leftovers from a session that crashed are deleted at start.
  • LG: Dolby Vision in MKV shows a screen while it opens, with each step and a "Watch now in HDR10" button. If the audio is TrueHD, it switches to E-AC-3 or AC-3 in the language you were listening to, so Dolby Vision stays on; if it can't match the track safely, it doesn't switch. A failed header read is retried instead of falling back to HDR10, and the film still starts where you pressed Play. If it falls back to HDR10, it continues from that point. The option is still off by default.
  • LG Magic Remote pointer on almost every screen: Library, Settings, Explore, View all, Search, Profile, Saved, Agenda, TV guide, Add-ons, the player sheets, the post-play screen and the Dolby Vision screen (#99).
  • Thai is drawn with a bundled Noto Sans Thai font, in the interface and in subtitles (#369).
  • Hide unreleased now also applies to Home rows and to collection and View all grids (#369).
  • MKV chapters on Android and Samsung .tpk are used for intro, credits and preview markers.
  • Skip intro and next episode use markers checked against the episode, TMDB numbering first, AniSkip for anime, and a timed fallback.
  • Simkl sign-in shows "Expires in m:ss" and no longer rejects the code on a slow or empty reply.
  • Subtitle size up to 250% (#335).
  • Support the project shows the Patreon and Ko-fi QR codes again.
  • The usage guide now covers 2.0.

Changed for everyone

  • Settings size goes from 90% to 80% once, for those still on the old default. 100% and later changes stay.
  • Hero trailer does not play by itself on TVs with a Mali-400/450/470 GPU. The setting is kept and the title page trailer still works (#286).
  • Add-ons disabled on the account are no longer queried on the TV: catalogs, search, View all, guide, sources and subtitles.
  • Higher limits: account add-ons 32 to 64, add-on subtitles 12 to 36 (12 per language), Android TV guide 3000 channels and 128 categories (TVs stay at 900 and 48).
  • End-of-video card without an accepted marker: series at 50 s before the end (was 40), movies at a fixed 3 min, 90 s under 1 h, none under 10 min.
  • Holding fast-forward speeds up and crosses the whole file in about 10 s. A single press is still 10 s (#340).
  • Recommendations from friends no longer open over Home. The clock island announces them and the card opens when you choose it.
  • LG, automatic source pick: with autoplay on, HDR set to Prefer and Dolby Vision on, an MP4 comes first among sources of the same resolution (MP4 Dolby Vision, then MP4 HDR, then MP4 SDR), even ahead of Dolby Vision in MKV. It never drops to a lower resolution to get an MP4, and your source rules still come first.

Fixed

  • Live TV: the reconnect watcher took the provider's end of stream for a manual pause and never reopened the channel. Manual pause is now tracked on its own (#302, #350).
  • Samsung .tpk with Mali-400 (Utgard): poster mipmaps are built on the CPU and the hero image is decoded at 960 px, so Home stutters less (#286).
  • Search waits 300 ms after the last key before asking the add-ons, and keeps the previous rows until the first reply (#368). A search with no results clears the previous ones.
  • Add-on sync merges your TV edits with the account instead of replacing it: an add-on installed on the phone stays, one removed on the phone does not come back. The merged list is never cut. After 3 refusals (4xx) the TV edit is dropped and the account list is applied (#360).
  • Fixed sidebar: the row editor (Reorder and enable rows) and the View all and collection grids start after it instead of under it (#359).
  • Up next no longer disappears when the Nuvio catalog does not list the episode; Cinemeta is checked first (#356).
  • Recommending a series from a Continue Watching card works again (#363).
  • Samsung .wgt: Arabic subtitles use Noto Naskh (#370). Holding OK in the subtitle sheet makes one choice instead of reloading on every repeat (#370).
  • Title carousel (Dynamic layout) fetches the next and previous title's details and episode list while you rest on one, so they are ready when you get there. Going back to a title already seen asks for nothing.
  • Your subtitle choice comes back. The subtitle you pick by hand (built-in or add-on) is remembered per profile: reopening the same title turns on that same track, other titles start with that language, and turning subtitles off by hand keeps them off. A subtitle language set in Settings still comes first for other titles.
  • Profile page: Left at the edge opens the sidebar without closing the page, also on a new profile or one with only friends (#371).
  • Continue Watching: with Episode thumbnail on, the card shows the episode still; a watched movie says Play. With the Nuvio account as source, up next is filled even when Trakt or Simkl is linked, without episodes already watched elsewhere.
  • Watched: "up to here" and "season" only send episodes that change, so Trakt gets no duplicate plays. The main button, next episode and "% watched" follow the change right away. Marking a series as watched no longer hides it on Trakt; only "Remove from Continue Watching" does.
  • Unmarking an episode sticks: an episode you unmark stays unmarked even when Trakt or the Nuvio account still lists it as watched, and after restarting the app. It comes back only if you mark or watch it again, or it is watched later on another device. The log now says which source marked each episode.
  • Continue Watching follows your unmarks: when Trakt, Simkl or the Nuvio account say a series is further along than what you left marked here, the "up next" card now shows the first episode you unmarked (for example S2E7 instead of S3E1). It does not apply when the service has a newer watch than your unmark.
  • Episode list missing on a title page, or no Up next card in the player, after browsing many titles.
  • Subtitles move up only while the Up next card is on screen, and come back down when it hides.
  • Credits markers are not accepted before the player knows the video length.
  • Home hero: the logo arrives with the art, the next item is loaded ahead, and items from Trakt lists get their synopsis. The hero no longer turns while the profile picker is open. Switching titles quickly no longer loses a synopsis or crashes the app.
  • Home hero: the previous and next hero art are now loaded in the background while you rest on one, so flipping the hero by hand (either direction) shows the art right away instead of waiting.
  • LG Dolby Vision: no more pause panel while the stream fills, and playback starts at the saved point. Smoother background on OLED.
  • Android: the saved aspect mode waits for the first frame, so Dolby Vision no longer opens dark.
  • Android: recreating the video surface (HDR start, aspect change) no longer freezes the remote for seconds while the decoder lets go of it, which could end in "app not responding".
  • Speed test keeps the byte range through debrid redirects, measures with 4 connections on Android again, and handles sources served as octet-stream.
  • Crashes from threads racing each other (watched episodes, parallel source check, catalog episodes, sign-in token, collections) (#203, #323).
  • LG webOS 4: startup crash from FreeType symbols, and startup crashes are now reported on the next launch (#317).
  • Android: start hang on Shield and other boxes, sign-in through the system network stack when libcurl fails (#266, #332); MStar flicker fixes and a crash report on Android 11 and older (#318).
  • Home: switching profile no longer shows the previous profile's rows (#294); the hero no longer depends on a drawn row, and a catalog added from Not on Home is no longer swallowed by a collection (#327); rebuilds are spaced out so Home settles with many collections (#319, #280).
  • Add-ons with very long URLs (2 to 16 KB) are no longer ignored, and add-ons past the limit are logged instead of cut silently.
  • Auto-play never picks an add-on placeholder; Samsung never picks Dolby Vision.
  • Best for this TV shows the resolution in the add-on's own order too, and an unknown resolution shows as "?" instead of 0p (#284). On LG, Dolby Vision in MKV only counts toward this ranking when that option is on.
  • Embedded subtitles: large MKV track headers, gentler reads, no stale downloads (#308, #330); more add-on subtitles (#268); Arabic subtitles with...

Test build: webOS 3.x crash fix

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@iqui27 iqui27 released this 09 Oct 18:27

Test build for LG TVs on webOS 3.x (2017 models) where Nuvio 2.0.2/2.0.3 closes after the second or third video.

Install it over 2.0.3 (same app id, your data is kept), then play 3 or more videos in the same session. If it no longer closes, please tell us in a comment or issue; if it does, send the log code from Settings › About.

Not needed on webOS 4 and newer. The fix will ship in 2.0.4.

Test 3: Android crash on play (#318)

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@iqui27 iqui27 released this 08 Oct 00:15

Third test build for #318. Keeps the flicker fix from 318.2 and fixes a crash when starting playback with the default source-check options on (the background source check could touch memory that was already freed). On Android 11 and older it also records where the app crashed, if it ever does, so the next log shows it. Install over your current version.

Nuvio Legacy 2.0.2

A visual refresh, a lot more control over playback, and faster starts.

Added

  • New Home hero. Accent-colored button the same size as the title page buttons, page dots that follow your accent, and a softer gradient over the trailer.
  • Context menu redone. The poster turns into an info card with the menu beside it. On large cards, and on 4:3 Featured cards, the info sits over the image. The menu also works in lists, and the Social panel opens inline.
  • Title page "..." button with Trailer, Explore and Change artwork.
  • Season progress chart on series pages, with how far your friends are.
  • Settings previews are now generated and animated, in every scene.
  • Social panel header. Tabs beside the title, an Edit sheet per profile, and an Agenda tab that lists upcoming episodes by date, with rows like the Agenda screen. The panel animations follow the clock island.
  • Watch history target per profile, with "Send history to the Nuvio account", and a Social features switch to turn Social off.
  • What's New 2.0.2 card.
  • Friends tab simplified. A single "Add people" button and your linked accounts in one row.
  • Row and title spacing on Home, in Settings.
  • Default aspect ratio applied when playback starts (#300).
  • Hide the parental guide in the player.
  • Auto-play rules like official Nuvio: allowed add-ons and plugins, regex filter, and an instant-wait option.
  • Also in Continue watching: keep a held title in the row as well.
  • Continue on profile picker (#303).
  • Search: a switch to turn Cinemeta results off (#311).
  • Interface resolution: Automatic. The 4K interface is only used when the TV can handle it. Everyone is moved to Automatic once.
  • DTS on LG can now be converted to stereo or to 5.1.
  • Dolby Vision in MKV on LG only (experimental, off by default).
  • Player: audio codec shown (#293), forced subtitles (#287), resolution in the sources list, Arabic subtitles (#273).
  • ASS subtitles on Samsung .tpk are now drawn by libass, with styles and positioning, on all four packages.
  • Auto-play add-on order: off, tie-break or strict.
  • Faster start options: play while verifying, warm connections and a parallel check of up to 3 ready debrid sources (on by default), and prepare the source when a title opens (off by default).
  • Add-on text mode keeps the add-on's own lines (up to 5), with icons for common emojis and trimmed separators.
  • Samsung warns when the TV can't play DTS or TrueHD, and prefers Dolby sources.
  • LG: add-on live channels work (#283). CH+ opens Salvos, like on the other platforms.
  • The account sync summary and the Trakt/Simkl link screen are translated.

Fixed

  • Faster stream start without lowering quality. If a source gives no signal, the next one is tried after 15 s. Slow or silent add-ons no longer hold up auto-play, and the clock island tells you what it is waiting for.
  • P2P files over 2 GB on Samsung and LG (#297).
  • Samsung: embedded subtitles in MKV files over 2 GB (#269).
  • Android 11: a black screen at launch now shows a rescue screen, and the log is sent even without login (#266).
  • Android TV: the app froze when opening a second movie.
  • LG: DTS audio hidden by the TV is recovered (#301).
  • Auto-play skips sources that aren't video. They show dimmed as "Not a video" in the list.
  • Samsung: embedded SRT subtitles are drawn by the app. Less log noise.
  • LG: subtitles engine only warms up when a track needs it.
  • Skip credits button hides itself after 10 s.
  • Live TV reconnects when a channel stops playing (#302).
  • Samsung Tizen 4 with Mali-400: the "Light" effects level now drops to minimal (#286).
  • Home drops rows of removed or disabled add-ons right away, and they no longer take Home slots (#319).
  • MStar Android boxes: no more flicker from the video surface switching, and the remote stays bound to the app (#318).
  • LG: startup breadcrumbs and a crash report even before the first frame (#317).
  • Smoother and lighter on slower TVs.
  • Home trailer fade matches the still art (#290), plus fixes for #294, #295 and #289.
  • More audio and video details in the logs on TCL.

Test 2: Android network fix (#266, #332)

Choose a tag to compare

@iqui27 iqui27 released this 07 Oct 22:51

Second test build for #266 and #332 (NVIDIA Shield, Sony BRAVIA and other Android TVs that open but never sign in, or get stuck on launch). Based on 2.0.2; install over it. Our network library now uses the same random source as Android itself, and sign-in falls back to Android's own connection if ours doesn't answer. If it still fails, Send log gets us exactly which step stopped.
