Manual Plugins Storage Media

Optional Plugins: Storage & Media

These are optional packages — not all of them may be installed on your build. Each gets its own web UI page when installed.

USB Storage

System → USB Storage

Handles USB disk detection, mounting/unmounting, formatting (with a swap/storage partition split), and extroot (moving the OS itself onto USB storage). This one page is shared by two different package variants:

  • usb-storage-noshare — base disk management only, no network file sharing.
  • usb-storage-full — everything noshare has, plus network sharing: the page's CIFS/SMB (workgroup name, share users/passwords), FTP (WAN access toggle, passive port range), and NFS sections. With only the noshare variant installed, those sections are disabled with a note that an additional package is needed.

USB Printer

System → USB Printer

Shares an attached USB printer to the network using raw JetDirect-style network printing (p910nd). Mostly self-configuring — the page just shows the detected printer's name and the router's IP address, which you enter as the network/JetDirect printer address on client PCs. No user-editable settings.

Webcam

System → Webcam

Streams video from an attached USB webcam over HTTP (MJPEG). Settings: enable, enable remote (WAN) access, device selection, resolution and FPS, an optional YUYV capture mode, the stream port, and an optional username/password for the stream — plus a live preview and copyable stream URLs on the page itself.

DLNA

System → DLNA

Runs a MiniDLNA media server so DLNA-capable devices (smart TVs, media players) can browse media on attached USB storage. Settings: enable, server (friendly) name, a "strict DLNA compliance" toggle, one or more shared folders (each tagged Audio/Video/Pictures/All) picked from a mounted drive, and buttons to check status or force a rescan.
