TextWren 2.1.0
TinyAI is now TextWren, with a new origami wren icon. Updating keeps your settings, API keys and downloaded models.
What's changed
- New name and icon. TextWren has an origami wren in the Dock and a matching wren in the menu bar.
- Talk with fn⌃. Voice shortcuts can be modifiers alone. New installs dictate with fn⌃: hold fn and Control to talk. Your current shortcut is kept.
- Faster default for GPT-6 Luna. Low is now the default reasoning level. Actions where you chose a level keep it.
- On-device text model. Qwen3.5 4B runs locally with llama.cpp for translation, grammar or any action, with no API key needed.
- Models in one place. Settings → API lists API providers, on-device text models and on-device voice models, and lets you download or delete them.
- Voice setup. A new install with no OpenAI key and no local model offers to download Nemotron for local dictation.
- Polish.
- The divider between the result panels is easier to drag and no longer jumps.
- The toolbar uses the standard macOS style.
- The Accessibility and Microphone status now turns green when they work.
- Replace in the popup puts the result back in place of your selection again.
- Open source. TextWren is MIT licensed.
