Evidence Journey

The Evidence Journey turns a problem window into a support-ready checklist. Pick a case or a time range, and DOCSight shows which evidence it already has for exactly that period, which evidence is stale or missing, and what to do next. The checklist is guidance for building a case, not an SLA monitor.

Open it from Cases > Evidence Journey.

Choose the problem window

You can start from:

  • A case: pick an incident from the Case list. The list shows each case with its status and date range; the case's own dates define the window, and its journal entries count as notes.
  • A quick range: Last 24 hours, Yesterday evening (6–11 pm), or Last 7 days.
  • A custom range: enter From and To in your configured time zone and click Build checklist.

You can also arrive with a window already filled in:

  • From Correlation: Use as evidence in Correlation Analysis opens the Evidence Journey for the visible chart window, including a zoomed window.
  • By link: #evidence?from=YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM&to=YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM (local time) opens the journey for that window.

Without a window, the view explains what it does and offers Check the last 24 hours.

The checklist

Item Ready when Notes
Signal evidence DOCSIS snapshots exist in the window Stale when the newest sample is more than 2 hours older than the window end. Not applicable in Generic Router mode.
Speed evidence Speed test results exist in the window Stale after 4 hours. Optional when Speedtest Tracker is not configured.
Latency evidence Connection Monitor or BQM samples exist in the window Stale after 4 hours. The hint says whether both sources or only one contributed. Optional when neither is configured.
DOCSight events Events were detected in the window Not applicable without DOCSIS snapshots.
Incident notes Journal notes belong to the case or fall into the window Missing means: add a short note describing what you observed.
BNetzA measurements Measurements exist in the window Always optional.
Before/after comparison — Optional; opens Before/After Comparison.
Review before sharing — Optional reminder to check the evidence for personal data.
Report or summary At least one evidence item is ready or stale Opens the report dialog for this window.

Every item shows a status (Ready, Stale, Missing, Optional, Not applicable), the number of data points in the window, the newest timestamp, and a link to the view where you can inspect or add the evidence. A summary line counts the items per status. In Demo Mode, a banner marks the checklist as simulated sample data.

Hand the window to the report

Report or summary opens the incident report dialog with the Evidence Journey's window as a fixed period. The complaint letter and the PDF evidence package then use exactly that case or time window instead of silently switching to a rolling period. See Filing a Complaint.

Copy support summary copies a short, factual text summary of the window and the available evidence. Review it before sharing; it lists available evidence only.

API

GET /api/evidence/checklist?incident_id=N or GET /api/evidence/checklist?from=…&to=… returns the window, the detected capabilities, a per-status summary, and the checklist items. from/to accept UTC timestamps, offset-aware timestamps, or local YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM values in the configured time zone. Use either incident_id or from/to, not both.
