Graft 0.6.13
- Needs you: sessions that wait for an answer or an approval, or stopped with an error, are listed at the top of the sidebar. The session you have open stays in its place.
- See what fills the context. Type /context, or click the context ring: the system prompt, tools, your messages, replies, tool results and reasoning, each with its size. They are estimates from the text, shown next to the provider's own count.
- Notifications have a sound switch (Settings → Notifications). A finished session stays quiet either way.
- A rewind to before a summary, or to before /clear, brings the earlier conversation back for the model. Before, those messages stayed on screen but were no longer sent.
- Models on Ollama are measured against the context Graft asks Ollama for: 32K, or the size you set for the model in Settings → Models. Before, Graft counted against the size the model was trained for while Ollama kept only 32K and dropped older messages without saying so. Models that Ollama passes on to a hosted service get their whole window.
Also in this release
Versions 0.6.5 to 0.6.12 were not published on their own, so this release carries them too:
- 0.6.12 Long sessions: the output of old tool calls is dropped before anything is summarized, a summary keeps the latest steps as they were, and a backup model takes over when the session’s model keeps failing.
- 0.6.11 Plans: edit a plan before you approve it, the approved plan stays above the message box and survives a summary word for word, and
/planswitches to Plan mode. - 0.6.10 Research:
/researchplans, searches, reads the pages and writes a report with its sources; chats can run several researchers at once; every cited link says whether its page was opened. - 0.6.9 Chats make real documents: PDF, Word, slides and spreadsheets. Models show their real context size.
- 0.6.8 Agents write side by side, turns are faster, OpenAI’s
-pro, Codex and deep-research models work, and MCP does more than tools. - 0.6.7 Pictures, clips and sound preview in the Files panel, and every file and folder has a menu.
- 0.6.6 Groups of agents with a live graph, missions, generated images, a view of how the code fits together, and motion.
- 0.6.5 Edits land even with the wrong indentation, and a conversation that outgrows the model is summarized and sent again.
The full notes for each are in the app under What’s new.
Install
- Windows:
Graft-Setup-0.6.13.exe. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may ask first: choose More info → Run anyway. - macOS: not in this release; build it from source on a Mac with
npm run dist:macuntil the release workflow can run again. - Linux: the
.AppImage(mark it executable) or the.deb.
Already using Graft? It downloads this update in the background and asks to restart.
Graft 0.6.4
- Building a site no longer freezes Graft. On PCs where Windows Security’s Controlled folder access protects Documents, Windows blocked the new site’s folder and Graft waited forever. New sites now go in a Graft Sites folder in your user folder, which Windows doesn’t lock and OneDrive doesn’t sync; sites already in Documents › Graft Sites stay there.
- When Windows won’t let Graft create or change a file, Graft and the agent now say so and how to allow it, instead of hanging or reporting “no such file or directory”.

Graft 0.6.3
- Sites: describe a website and Graft designs and builds it, then hosts it on your computer at its own address (like peach-palace.localhost) with a live preview that reloads as it changes. The Sites tab keeps a gallery of them with previews, and each is a folder in Documents › Graft Sites, ready to publish anywhere.
- Connected apps work properly: Roblox Studio tools that appear after it connects now show up, servers that start empty are asked again, long jobs that report progress (a render, a download) are no longer cut off after two minutes, apps started with npx or uvx get your full environment, older HTTP servers work, and a server that crashes reconnects. When Blender, Roblox Studio or Unity isn’t ready, Graft says what to check.
- Chats can use your connected apps too, asking before each action.
- Taproot grows a root: picking the deepest effort turns the slider into a living leaf-to-gold gradient, draws a small root and says what it costs.
- Computer use is easier to follow: a ring marks each click, the banner says what the agent is doing, each step shows its screenshot in the chat, and the agent can zoom in to read small text or open an app by name.
- Fixes: a moved or deleted project folder no longer shows as “Git is not installed”, Git is found even when it isn’t on PATH, and session titles work for people using free models with no credits.

Graft 0.6.2
- Checks after changes: list your project’s checks (type check, lint, tests) in Customize → Checks and Graft runs them after every turn that changed files. When one fails, the agent gets the output and fixes the cause, up to two rounds. Graft suggests the commands from your package.json, Cargo, Go or Python setup.
- A sandbox for code you don’t trust: turn it on for a project and its commands run in a Docker or Podman container that sees only the project folder. Your other files, keys, credentials and environment variables stay out of reach, .git and .graft are read-only inside it, and one switch cuts off the network. In Auto-edit and Auto, sandboxed commands run without asking.
- A better Browser panel: a console with an error badge, find in page, zoom, phone and tablet widths, developer tools, reload without cache and clearing site data. Send a screenshot, a picked element or the console straight into your message. With no page open it lists the dev servers running on your computer.
- The agent can test web apps: it opens your dev server in the Browser panel, clicks and types like a person, reads the console and takes screenshots.
- Fixes: Stop now clears a waiting approval or question, the changes panel works for sessions in a subfolder of a repository, and a session list that fails to load offers a retry.

- Linux: the
.AppImage(mark it executable) or the.deb.

Graft 0.6.1
- Integrations: connect Blender, Roblox Studio, Unity, Godot, Figma, a Playwright browser, GitHub, Context7, Sentry, Linear and Notion from Settings → Integrations. Graft checks what each one needs on your computer, shows the setup steps and adds it in one click.
- Tokens you give an integration are kept encrypted with your system keyring, not in a settings file.
- The command palette matches what you type more precisely: letters scattered across a long command no longer count as a match.
- Starts faster: the interface code Graft loads at launch is half the size it was.

Graft 0.6.0
- Long tasks no longer stop at 150 steps: a turn runs until the work is done. You can still set a limit in Settings → Permissions, and a turn that reaches it pauses with a Continue button.
- A command palette: press Ctrl+Shift+P, or type > in search, to run almost anything. Start sessions, switch palettes and themes, open any settings page, export, compact or rewind.
- Settings → Personalization tells Graft about you and how you like answers, with a response style (balanced, concise, explanatory or learning) and your own instructions. Chats and code sessions use it; incognito chats never do.
- Rewritten instructions for chats and code sessions, and View system prompt (session menu or /system) shows exactly what Graft sends to the model.
- Six colour palettes, each light and dark (Graft, Midnight, Slate, Grove, Dune and High contrast), seven accent colours, and smoother motion throughout.
- Start a message with ! in a code session to run a shell command yourself, such as !npm test; Graft sees the output with your next message. ↑ and ↓ bring back messages you sent.
- Custom agents: make specialists such as a reviewer, a test writer or a debugger in Customize → Agents, and Graft hands them tasks.
- New commands: /commit, /pr, /security-review, /explain, /test, /export, /system and /new. A command file of your own can replace any of the prompt commands.
- Messages you type while Graft works can go right away: Send now hands one over after the current step without stopping anything. Queued messages can also be edited or removed, in chats too.
- Scion the sprout comes alive: it blinks, looks around and wiggles its leaves, flaps them while Graft works, and hops when you hover over it or click it.

Graft 0.5.1
- Updates work again. Every earlier version failed its update check (“Cannot set properties of undefined”), so install this one by hand once; from here on Graft downloads new versions itself and asks to restart.
- If an update check ever fails, Settings → About links straight to the releases page so you can download the newest installer yourself.
- A copy of Graft that can’t update itself now says so instead of showing “Checking for updates…” forever.
Install
- Windows:
Graft-Setup-0.5.1.exe. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may ask first: choose More info → Run anyway. - macOS: not in this release; the macOS build comes from the release workflow once GitHub Actions runs for this repository.
- Linux: the
.AppImage(mark it executable) or the.deb.
Already using Graft? Versions up to 0.5.0 can't install updates themselves, so download and run this installer once. After that, Graft downloads new versions in the background and asks to restart.
Graft 0.5.0
- Chats can make files for you to download (documents, data, code, pictures) and run JavaScript in a locked-down sandbox for calculations and data work.
- Chats know the time: each message carries when it was sent, so “what time is it?” gets a real answer.
- Read aloud can pause, resume and stop, and sounds far more natural with OpenRouter’s voices (Kokoro by default, about $0.0006 per 1,000 characters). Pick the voice and speed in Settings → Voice; incognito chats always use your computer’s voice.
- Taproot answers questions and quick requests directly instead of planning and reviewing work that never happened.
Install
- Windows:
Graft-Setup-0.5.0.exe.

Graft 0.4.0
- Free web search with no key or account: Exa by default, and DuckDuckGo when Exa is busy. Searching no longer costs anything unless you pick a paid engine.
- The engine you pick in Settings → Web search now decides every search; Claude’s built-in search runs only when you pick Anthropic.
- Site icons load for far more sites, YouTube and npm among them, and a site without one shows a globe instead of a letter.
- On Windows, the taskbar shows Graft’s own icon and name instead of Electron’s.
Install
- Windows:
Graft-Setup-0.4.0.exe.

Graft 0.3.0
- Web search in chats and code sessions through your own provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini or OpenRouter), or Brave, Tavily or SearXNG, with site chips while it searches and cited sources as pills.
- Each turn’s work folds into one line with a live status while it runs, and an “Edited N files” card lists every change with its diff.
- Taproot now investigates, plans with a task list it has to finish, verifies with real checks and reviews its own diff before reporting.
- Computer use on Windows (opt-in in Settings → Permissions): the agent can see the screen and use the mouse and keyboard, asking first, and Ctrl+Alt+Esc stops it.
- Updates from GitHub releases, with a prompt to restart when one is ready; a transcript width setting; faster startup.
- Checkpoints and rewind work with older Git versions too, including the one macOS ships, and Linux builds come as an AppImage and a .deb.
