There is a note "If toString or valueOf returns an object, then it’s ignored" later in the text, but I believe it's better to add this condition directly to the sequence of selecting the appropriate method. In this case it will be easier to learn and will match the steps described in the specification (https://tc39.es/ecma262/#sec-ordinarytoprimitive).
