Can not play videos with EAC3, AC3 audio codec

Bug Description

Can not play videos with EAC3, AC3 audio codec regardless of the selected audio settings in the roku stick and jellyfin. Only an error message with the text "Error during playback" is displayed.
Stereo videos with AAC LC codec play normally. Before the last update everything was fine.

We might need more details. Log files, including the Jellyfin client log files (https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku/blob/master/docs/DEVGUIDE.md#bugcrash-reports).

I just used a test EAC3 file (https://kodi.wiki/view/Samples#:~:text=U.S.%20ATSC3.0%20OTA%20capture%20w/EAC3%20audio) and it played correctly on my setup. I was direct playing and not transcoding.

I'm using the same settings. Transcoding is off. But the problem with your video is the same. It won't play.

If I set the digital output format to Dolby Digital Plus in the Roku Stick's audio settings, I can play the video, but without sound.

I've attached a part of the Jellyfin server log file. I hope that helps.
Unfortunately, I can't retrieve a log file from the Roku Stick. Although developer mode is enabled and I can connect to the stick via the web interface, I can't access a log file via telnet.

By the way I also updated the Jellyfin Server to 10.10.6.0, but that change nothing.

@jimdogx Exactly. It does not play. I just see an error message.

Unfortunately, if the test video doesn't work either, then something may have changed with your configuration / setup.

I would go through the settings and see if something has changed (bitrate limit which forces transcoding but you have transcoding disabled on the server, things like that as an example).

Otherwise, I think you might need to post in the Jellyfin forum to get more eyes on the issue and help troubleshoot:

I just wanted to let you know that it's working now.
I simply checked a box under each user on the server (see image).
With these settings, all videos play as expected.

Maybe this will work for you too, @SenorSmartyPants.

But that option means audio transcoding is enabled, right?
I'm confused.
Either way, it works now.

@Greaseball0815 I'm having a similar issue but I disagree on needing audio transcoding enabled to get certain videos to play if you have a device that can decode these standard audio formats natively. A capable Roku device should just be able to play them just fine on Jellyfin-Roku.
